Anyways so after they got this nice growing ring that almost encased them in a solid crystal and Aang did all the tree challenges they finally found out the name of the king and everyone was happy.
"Thank you very much for your advice Bumi, but before we depart I have a challenge for you" Aang said and took them to the delivery system again together with king Bumi.
Akira just facepalmed himself and passed on this for now.
It is fun once but that was now off his bucket list so no need to do it again.
Sokka and Katara also had enough from last time so they just waited with Appa for Aang to join them.
After this they continued their journey to the north, flying through the endless woods north of Umashu.
They then used up all their proviant and were forced to seach for food.
Call him an asshole but he wasn't sharing his food. Social Interactions are important and that way they will meet Haru, a future fighter for the resistance in the final fight.
Anyways while they rested Akira and Sokka were gathering food in the woods with them finding nothing more than a few nuts.
"Finally, you two are back, what's for dinner?" Aang asked.
"Well we have round nuts...and oval shaped nuts and some that look like a pebble" Sokka said and Akira punched him "Yeah because it is a pebble you idiot!"
"You found nothing else?" Katara asked but then they heard a loud bang.
"What was that?" Sokka asked.
"Mabye thunder?" Akira joked and another bang sounded through the woods.
Katara then got up to look what caused the noise.
"Hey shouldn't we run away instead of going nearer that noise?" Sokka asked.
"No, it could be fun" Akira said and followed Katara to the noise.
They then saw Haru training his earthbending.
"Wow a real earthbender" Katara said and walked to him.
"Hello!!! I am Katara what's your name?" she asked and the boy immediately made a run for it completly terrified of her.
"Huh? Did I do something wrong?" Katara asked herself.
"Whatever, let's follow this guy mabye there is a nearby village where we can buy food" Aang said and they all went towards the direction the boy dissapeared to.
As they suspected there really was a small town nearby and they finally got to eat something when Katara spotted the boy they saw during his earthbending.
"Oh hey, why did you walk away earlier?" Katara asked "I saw you while earthbending"
At this moment his mother grew terrified and hurriedly closed the door and hid.
A second later fire nations soliders knocked on the door.
"Just act normal" Sokka said.
Akira nearly facepalmed himself when he saw how ankward they are when acting I mean what's the big deal? If they find out just beat them up.
The fire solider threatened them with a display of his fire bending and said that the taxes were raised.
Akira really felt his hand itch but he couldn't do that now because Aang is an insuferable pacifist and he would destroy the house of those poor people.
Intimidated Haru's mother took out her last money and gave it to the solider.
The solider then walked out without causing more trouble.
"Nice guy" Sokka said sarcastically "How long is the fire nation here already?"
"Over five years. Firelord Ozai takes the coal from here as fuel for his ships" the mother of Haru said.
"They are thieves, stealing what's ours and everyone here is too much of a coward to do anything about it" Haru said.
"Don't talk like that Haru!" his mother said sharply.
"But Haru is an earthbender, he can help. Could it get any worse?" Katara said and just as Haru's mother was about to say something Akira interrupted her.
"You all have no Idea what the fire nation does to people who resist their rule of tyranny. But I know you naive sheltered girl!" he shouted in anger at her dumbness "what they are doing now is harmless compared to what they could do. I was once taken to a battlefield. My grandfather called it gathering real experience. The villagers resisted and what followed after was a massacre. The village was burned to the ground, the men bound and chained to watch as they raped their wives and killed their children. You have no idea of the cruelty of the fire nation"
Everyone was taken aback by his outburst and Katara and Aang looked at him in shock.
"Why would someone do something so horrible?" Aang said sadly.
"For fun and entertainment. The soliders of the fire nation are savages who leave nothing but dead bodies and destruction behind them" Akira said darkly "It's better if they would all just be dead"
"How can you say something like that?" Aang said "everyone deserves a second chance and has the right to live"
There it was this pathetic pacifistic mindset that frustrated him to no end.
"We are at war Aang. Every solider of the fire nation has blood on his hands and has killed innocents. You think a solider of the fire nation has the right to live?" Akira asked.
"Yes, there is always a chanche that he turns around and lives a good life!" Aang said.
"Question for you airhead. What would you do if you need to decide? Save the lives of a hundred people or just one person?" Akira asked "by killing one of them you save the people who he will kill in the future"
"That doesn't justify killing him. You aren't any better than him if you do!" Aang said.
"There is a big difference between killing a monster and a human" Akira just said "let me show you something"
He then focused on a specific memory and pulled it along with his chi towards hjs fingertipps and touched Aangs forehead letting him see this memory of a village being massacred.
Aang began to cry but Akira just looked at him with cold eyes.
The Avatar didn't have the freedom of being an innocent child. He needed to grow up.
"What are you doing, stop can't you see that it hurts him?" Katara said and threw him away.
"Yes it should hurt!" Akira said "Because this could be the consequences of his pacifism! There isn't always a peaceful way!"
Aang just stared at the wall completly traumatisized.
'I hope that didn't mentally break him' Akira thought but then Aangs expression changed to one of fury and his eyes and tattos lit up as he stared at Akira.
'Oh fuck' Akira just though but stood unmoved in front of him.
