Chapter 4 - Unwanted Guest

The boy opens his eyes to find himself in a dark place with mixed sounds of people echoing around. He was bound and unable to move. He began looking around. He didn't know where he was, but he felt this place was somewhat familiar. After some time passed, a mysterious figure appeared before the boy. It was completely white from head to toe and was as clear as the moon in that pitch darkness. The boy looked at him with a puzzled face and tried to focus on his face, only to be shocked that it had no features. The figure turned to the boy and began staring at him with his featureless face. He didn't utter a word or attempt to communicate with the boy in any way. He just kept staring at him. Meanwhile, the boy continued looking at him with bewilderment. After some time passed, he began hearing a familiar voice. It wasn't clear at first, but it began becoming clearer and clearer. With each second, the strange man began to fade until he disappeared completely. The boy opened his eyes to find Jesse calling him to wake up. Then he said to him, "Get up quickly, I think they've moved away from the car." The two left that house and headed toward the place where they had last parked the car. Upon arrival, they found the place empty and that the wanderers had left the area. Jesse quickly ran toward the car and told the boy to hurry and get in. After that, he started the car and drove out of this area, searching for another place to live. During their search, Jesse said in a calm tone, "Hey, there's a gun in the back seat. Get it for me, we'll need it." The boy turned to the back seat and began searching through it. After several minutes, he found the gun under one of the seats. It was a gun slightly larger than usual, silver in color with a grip made of "unknown creature leather" and in its center the phrase "William Thornfield." The boy returned to his place and gave the gun to Jesse, who placed it in front of him and continued driving. But unexpectedly, Jesse glimpses the same creature they had seen in the store emerging from one of the shops, but this time it had spotted them from afar and began running toward them quickly. Jesse changed the car's direction to reverse and drove away from it. But even with this, the beast continued following them. Jesse picked up the gun and quickly aimed it at the beast, and after a short period of focus (sound of a bullet), he pressed the trigger and fired at it. The bullet hit the beast's stomach, leaving a large hole in its belly. A small smile appeared on Jesse's face, thinking this would kill it. But the expressions of joy disappeared from his face when he noticed that the creature's blood had filled the hole and hardened quickly, then continued chasing them afterward. Jesse increased the speed, making him gradually distance himself from the beast. But in a moment, the beast pressed its fingers with its right hand forcefully until they exploded and its blood began flooding, then hardened afterward to become like sharp crystal. After that, it removed its hardened blood from its place, and with both fists began pressing it forcefully until it became small sharp pieces. With a quick glance toward their car, it raised its hand in the air and launched the small fragments with tremendous force toward them. Jesse looked in the mirrors and noticed the fragments coming toward them and screamed, trying to warn the boy, "Duck!" The fragments struck the car. Some of them reached the wheels and blew them up, others hit the car's glass causing it to break, and others reached Jesse and the boy causing minor damage to them. Due to the car's wheels exploding, Jesse couldn't control the car, so he pressed the brakes. But the car began sliding until it crashed into one of the buildings. Jesse sustained much damage from the crash, but he pulled himself together and got out of the car. He put his hand on his head to find it bleeding slightly. He went to the car's trunk and brought out a first aid kit, taking out some bandages to place on the bleeding area. He also took out armor made from some rusty iron remains with a front filled with sharp spikes. He brought some ammunition and turned toward the beast that was slowing down as it approached him. He aimed his gun at it and fired a bullet toward its arm. Part of the beast's palm disappeared due to the bullet's impact, causing its hand to bleed, but it hardened within seconds, forming a sharp weapon from its blood. Then it headed toward Jesse and quickly raised its hand in the air, delivering a powerful blow that threw him far away. After that, the beast felt something strange in its hand. It directed its gaze to its arm and found there were many holes and some spikes in it. Jesse rose from the ground with difficulty, expressions of fatigue and pain dominating his face as he held his shield, which was deformed by the beast's blow. Jesse looked at the shield while breathing with difficulty. "I would have been dead if not for this shield." Jesse raised his rifle toward the beast while the beast removed the spikes from its hand and headed toward him slowly... (End)
