The check-up has been cancelled. Diya was about to throw a fit for having her time wasted. But out of curiosity she asked around the reason. The receptionist was pale. She reluctantly said,"The newborn facility is unaccessible. That murderer girl from a week ago is spotted on cameras."
Diya felt the invisible Light's embrace tighten around her, "Let's leave."
Before Diya was able to react,something strange brushed against her and right that instant, she lost consciousness.
Light, who immediately caught her to prevent fall, furiously looked only to spot an annoying black bird. And obviously a blood soaked woman was right beside her.
"What did you do to her?" His icy voice lowered the temperature dangerously. People staryed shaking as they were freezing up.
"Now now, ease your presence. I just made her fall asleep. She'll wake up soon. But if you keep being angry, all these innocent people will die an unjust death."
Light snapped at the playful voice.
"Look who's talking. As if you really cared for their lives! "
Ruru was not all bothered, "Oh my beloved, everything has time and order. They can not die by your hand. Or later there will be shortage of props for the circus. That will hinder my partner here. I cannot let you do that, can I?"
It was annoying to talk, taking care of Diya seemed more important. Light disabled his invisibility, the people here are traumatised anyway. A bit more shock won't change anything. In a moment, the people witnessed a lump of black appearing out of nowhere and carrying away their VIP.
"What are standing here for? Follow him!" Ruru sounded impatient, following them lke her life depended on it. As they were about to move inside the huge villa, another wave chill warned them, "Don't you dare take a step inside..."
"But my dearest, I won't leave without talking. "
Ruru, cute and easy as it seemed, had one of toughest mind. Once she decides something, she never goes back on her word. Light knew that more than anyone and decided to take a step back, "Wait here. I will be back in a bit."
"But what if you don't?"
"I don't lie."
"Oh right, you don't. I will be waiting."
Light carried Diya back to her room and gently placed her in the bed. Then he said something like a chant and a 3 feet girl appeared in black frock. She had red eyes and a pair of long sharp canines.
"At your service, master," she said in a submissive tone.
"Bella," Light ordered his familiar in a dry tone, "Take care of her. Don't let that annoying bird's power trespass here."
As Bella nodded, Light disappeared.
Near the villa was an under construction building. And in the currently empty first floor, the lady in the red (formerly white) sat against a pillar with a black bulbul on her shoulder. He went to them and Ruru flew around him and chirped in joy, "Oh honey,my dearest, craziest Prince, you are finally back to Ruru! I knew my belo..."
Light bluntly rejected her words of affection, "Get to the point. What is it you want to talk about?"
"Aw!" Ruru was unfazed, "So heartless you are to me, my night. I wonder if your new sweetheart knows this side of you."
"Shut up, Ruru! If you keep speaking nonsense, I will leave."
Finally she settled down in her partner's head.
"Nox, my esteemed prince, you are destined to remain alone," she said in a serious tone, "You will care,love and sacrifice only to be repayed with rejection and betrayal. You can never have a happy ending. This is how you repay me. Yes, that is how it has always been. But...but you actually dared to be happy. How dare you do something so repulsive! "
Light remains silent. He Isn't some Nox. And he never did anything to owe her yet he has suffered from her curse all his life. Anytime he is about to be hapoy, she appears and ruins everything. And surprisingly enough, he never once refuted or rebelled against her despite being the more powerful one. He has quietly accepted her judgement every time but...not this time. He cannot let it approach Diya. So despite his unreasonably heavy and guilty heart, he maintained his composure,
"What about you? Playing with someone's eyes, again? You never stop, do you?"
Ruru paused after hearing his mockery but soon replied with double fury, "Don't you dare judge me, Nox! I am doing all this for you, for us! I can give us a happy ending. Can't you wait for me without finding someone else? " In her last words, anger turned into plea. But Light, without an ounce of sympathy, said, "First of all, I am not Nox. I go by Light. And then, who wants a ending with you? I don't even know you. Finally if you dare to approach her even once, I will get you expelled! "
"You...!"
Light didn't wait. He vanished quickly. Ruru was angry, shouting so much but suddenly she smiles like a creep, " Don't you worry, Princeps. You will come to love me. I will make sure of it."
Her chirp grows louder.
