He stood still. He missed Diya's warmth a lot. He knew the hide and seek was over, that he can no longer pretend to be her warmhearted miracle. His hideous looks are all exposed to her. Now she will know how he lied about being her light, how much frightening and disgusting he is. She will come to fear him, resent him, fear him. Just like anyone else, like the other times, he will be detested, feared and abandoned. It was nothing new, but still it would not a any less. He was prepared to end it but still having the warmth for a little longer is all he hoped for. He wanted to remain in the girl's embrace till she awakes from her daze and screams in fear and hatred. Diya came back to her sense and finally saw what she felt before. No way can it be light. She had already seen enough to know the different between light and darkness. So she knew him being Light was an absurd lie.
"You little liar," she pulled away from the embrace and squeezed what seemed like his cheeks with both of her hands, "You moron, where the hell did you run?"
Light felt he was dreaming. Those grey eyes had none of the emotions he expected to see in them. They did had emotions but it was unexpected. Rage, worry and relief ; no matter how one sees, it cannot be real. Why was the girl showing these feelings?
"Hey, I'm asking you a question. Don't pretend to be dumb, I know you can hear me loud and clear."
"I did...not run away..." He felt very strange. What are these questions? Where are the ones the usually ask? Diya will not able to see anything other than a thick darkness, he knew this. But somehow it felt like she was gazing right into his soul. He could not find the right words.
"Erm...I never left. I was...always by your side.... All I did was to conceal my presence."
"Oh dear!" Diya seemed bewildered, "So all that nonsense about exhaustion and sleep were pure lies, hm?"
"I...I mean... I," he couldn't even gather his thoughts.
"That also means every time I was screaming at the air like a mental patient, you were always there, watching me make a fool of myself," she gritted her teeth, "Was it amusing? Did you enjoy me being a clown?"
"No!" He immediately refuted, " I never thought of you like that! I...was just scared."
His last words were like whisper. Diya was absolutely furious, "Scared of what that you had to go as far as to ghost me!"
"Can't you see? I am doing this for your own good." He finally exploded, "Look closely. I am no human. I am a hideous and vicious monster. I ruin others' lives. You may have already guessed but let me assure you. I was the one who threatened them into treating you like that, I knew my actions would not make them actually care for you. Rather it made them even hate you. Not ust that I also killed the ones who didn't agree. I am a detestable, fearsome inhumane filth. Is it not good for something like me to disappear from your good life?"
"I don't care," Diya stated in a resolute voice, " All the things you said doesn't matter. Yes,your actions did make them hate me. But who cares! Ever since I got acquainted with you, I no longer needed their love or anything. The least I needed your actions made them give it to me. Yes, you killed them and personally I do not promote murder. But they were no good either, watching a blind girl suffer and even extorting her things! I am not really proud of you for that but it doesn't bother me either. If anything, they deserved it. And I have no obligation to feel pity for them. And you, you were the only one by my side, giving me hope and all when I had lost my will to live. You say you are a monster but for me you were the only humane one. How can you even think I will cut you from my life just because you are like this?"
It felt like a heavy burden was taken off his chest. He was actually being accepted.
"Do you mean it? You don't hate or fear me? "
Diya shook her head, "Why would I? You are my Light, my miracle. "
As his stress was gone,he felt refreshed. Did he ever feel so happy before?
"But you know Diya, for a human, your way of thinking doesn't seem right."
"Maybe," Diya grinned, "Not that it matters or anything. You don't mind if I'm insane, do you?"
"Of course not."
"Good, you are not allowed to leave or ghost me from now it."
"As you wish, Your Majesty The Queen."
Diya chuckled, "Oh by the way, go with me when I go to the hospital for a checkup later."
"Huh? You don't need to prove your acceptance to..."
"Don't reject. I am doing this for my own safety. It's been a week. If that crazy woman appears you got to save me."
"Who?"
"You haven't seen? Come with me." Light followed Diya out of the destroyed kitchen to her room. She put her laptop on and opened a video, "Look here. As much as I would like claim it is a fake news, the top news channels have covered it. There has to be some truth to this massacre. And it has been exactly seven days since then."
"Rur..."
"What did you say?"
"Nothing, I will go with you and..." Coldness pinched Diya, "Don't ever pull something like this again. What if you got injured?"
"You were there to save me so It's fine. "
Attempting to reprimand Diya, he ended up laughing, "You are unbelievable!"
Diya joined his laughter. Life is beautiful.
