Mark and Leo chatted for a few hours before Mark left the house, leaving me and Leo alone. Mark stood up and started walking down a hallway filled with boxes. "Come with me," he said. I stood up and hurried behind him as we walked down, eventually reaching a room with a flight of stairs in the middle. One door was locked, and the other was an unused bedroom. Leo then spoke. "Is your bedroom in there? You'll find all the basics. I'll wake you up early, so I suggest you get a good night's sleep." He walked away, leaving me standing in the doorway. I stepped inside the room and saw a bed with a light blue cover, a desk, a dresser, and a bathroom connected to the room. I checked the desk drawers and found papers and pencils in the first drawer, with every other one empty. I sat on the bed, set down my cane, and let my Pokémon out. They played among themselves as I sat there, pondering. Finally, I called it a night, quieted down my Pokémon, and drifted into a dreamless sleep.
I woke up to a sharp knock at my door and saw the door turn as Leo walked in. He got dressed and met me in the kitchen in ten minutes. I nodded and he walked out with a sign. I got up, brushed my teeth, got dressed, grabbed my cane, recalled my Pokémon, and strapped them on my belt. I walked to the kitchen and saw Leo eating toast while reading a document. I sat down and cleared my throat. "So, what are we going to do today, Leo?" he asked, looking up and sipping his drink leisurely. "Well, first, let me ask you a question. What is aura?" I fell silent for a second in contemplation as he waited patiently for my answer. "Well, aura is the combination of your mind, body, and soul energy all mixed together. It's a right answer technically, but it's so much more than that. You see, aura is present in a being at the moment it takes its first breath. From that point on, aura is based on the soul, mind, and body, but it goes deeper than that. You see, every person's aura is unique." This is because the energy they use is fundamentally different. When a person's body creates aura, it draws on the mind and body. Yes, and soul, yes, but have you ever wondered how they determine how much to take? The unique thing is that everyone's process of creating aura is different. Some draw more on the spiritual side, resulting in an aura mainly composed of spiritual energy. Others might focus more on the physical side, drawing primarily from that aspect, and their aura will be different as well. While the first person might have more control over their aura and be better at manifesting it, someone drawing from the physical side might find their aura stronger and of better quality than someone of the spiritual side.
Interesting, but why tell me all this? Not that I don't appreciate it, but why? I was getting there. He takes another long sip of his drink before I begin to explain more. You see, aura is divided into four subclasses: physical, spiritual, destructive, and blessed. Every person's aura is unique, and so is the power they awaken. Is that what you were getting at? In ancient times, people made a startling revelation when a person's aura reached a certain point. It starts to change and take on unique properties, which was later named awakening. When a being experiences an awakening, their aura changes, and based on their personality and aura, they gain an ability tied to it. For example, a person who loved fighting and working out and made their aura primarily from physical energy would most likely awaken an ability that augmented their body or strength.
Therefore, when people with aura started awakening, a new sorting system was created to classify their power. Those with the ability to change or augment the body are classified as physical class. People whose power affects the mind are sorted into the mind class, as they use the mind or interact with it. If the power doesn't reside in either the physical or mental realms, they are categorized into the soul class. Finally, there's the blessed class. These fortunate individuals have formed a pact with powerful Pokémon, typically legendary ones, and acquire traits from their companions. The most common type of contract involves humans offering lifelong servitude. These power people awaken with abilities that can change, and Leo's face darkens as he leans back in his chair, putting his mug down very rarely in history. Strange people usually appear after a great tragedy. All these individuals who have emerged in our history share three commonalities: they all possessed immense strength without fail, they all possessed the same twisted ability to nullify energy and cancel abilities while simultaneously creating voids with no bottom or end—empty voids stretching on forever. Lastly, every single one of them experienced a loss so profound and deep that it permanently altered them, leaving a gaping void in their hearts.
