A shadow fly silently glides over a forest before diving down and landing near a lake with clear blue water. It looks around nervously, leans down, and starts drinking. Suddenly, a shadow rush erupts from a bush, charging the bird. Upon closer inspection, it's revealed to be a Pidgey. As the shadow charges, its form is revealed to be a short-form Chimchar with bright orange short fur and a vibrant flame on its tail. Chimchar uses Flame Punch, and its fist lights on fire, slamming into the Pidgey and burying its feathers. Chimchar grabs its beak and slams it into the ground. With its other hand, it reaches up and grabs the beak, grunting and slamming it down, stunning the Pidgey further. Chimchar finishes it off with a determined glint in its eye, using Flame Punch once more. It raises its fist in the air, and a brilliant orange and red fire erupts on its fist. With a roar, it slams down on the Pidgey, fracturing and crating the ground with a light smile. I walk up and pat Chimchar on the head, praising it for a smoother performance than last time. "You're getting better by the day," I say. "All right, go clean up, wash your hands, and hurry back. Or else, Ditto will eat all the food before you." Chimchar yelps in alarm and bolts to the lake. I chuckle and head back to camp, with Chimchar catching up shortly. When we return, we see Dreepy and Ditto shoveling food down their mouths, trying to eat faster than the other. Chimchar runs over and joins them excitedly. I smile and reach into my pocket, pulling out a map. "This means this area is clear to the Beedrill nest," I say. "It must be deeper. Over the past few days, we've already checked all the areas the nest can be besides three spots." I circle a spot a few miles away. "After lunch, we'll check here. We'll know the nest is there if we start finding Beedrill," I say. I put the map away and start eating with my Pokémon. They smile as they watch Ditto and Chimchar wrestle over some food, while Dreepy sneakily eats it. As we wrap up eating, I gather up our stuff and set off into the ever-expanding forest and its mysteries. Ditto jumps up on my shoulder, Dreepy floats behind me, and Chimchar walks beside us. Keep ahead, and we walk in silent understanding. Each of our guards raises their weapons to the maximum. The only sound that breaks the silence is the rhythmic clacking of my cane hitting the forest floor. Time flies as we walk. Before Chimchar suddenly stops and signals at me that it hears enemies, I jump and conceal myself on a thick branch at the top of a tree. We all hide. After a few more seconds, we hear a soft buzzing sound that gets louder before three Beedrill appear.
