Liam peered into the field agents' room, and when spotted Team C gathered in their usual corner.
"I don't know if you just missed her or saw her on your way in, but Miss Ayan stepped out of the facility less than five minutes ago," Amir said, looking directly at Liam with a knowing expression.
"Yeah, about that…" Liam began, his voice trailing off as he tried to figure out how much he wanted to reveal.
Sarah cut him off with a mischievous grin. "She saw you, she's really mad at you, and she thinks you're rude for standing her up, right?"
Liam stared at her in surprise. "How do you know all that?"
"I'm a woman, and a pretty smart one too, remember?" Sarah said with a casual shrug. "And I'm not wrong, am I?"
Liam sighed deeply and shook his head in resignation. "No, that's pretty much exactly how it went down," he said
Amir's amused expression grew wider as he shook his head in sympathy. "That woman's going to hate you for life, man."
