Chapter 366 - Chapter 366 : Mr. Paradox and Deadpool

Deadpool watched as orange time portals multiplied in the corridor outside his apartment, with Time Variance Authority agents stepping through, their armor glinting under the dim lights.

He knew a fight was unavoidable.

Deadpool eased the door shut, his movements soft but resolute, shielding the peaceful haven behind it—his friends, his cherished sanctuary. He refused to let the looming chaos shatter their tranquility or drag them into a conflict that wasn't theirs.

Turning to face the advancing TVA agents, Deadpool drew a deep breath, summoning the fearless edge he'd honed on battlefields years ago. But time hadn't been kind. Even with his immortality, the comfort of civilian life had dulled his reflexes, leaving him feeling rusty.

He stretched, joints cracking like a grim reminder of the brutal fight ahead.

The TVA agents didn't give him time to warm up. They swiftly formed a tight circle, their energy weapons humming with lethal intent, poised to strike.

Deadpool's eyes sharpened. He knew brute force wouldn't cut it against these numbers. Using his agility, he darted through the narrow hallway, leaping and rolling to dodge blasts from all sides.

But the agents were too many. Despite his efforts, Deadpool was cornered, overwhelmed, and apprehended.

(Okay, slander! Pure slander! If the director didn't rig this, I'd have sliced through them all. How's the plot supposed to move if I don't get nabbed? Deadpool yelled, breaking the fourth wall.)

A wave of dizziness hit him, the world spinning like a kaleidoscope. When it settled, he stood in an alien space bathed in orange light—the Time Variance Authority's headquarters.

The building's exterior glowed warmly, its interior drenched in the same hue, blending sci-fi sleekness with an oddly cozy vibe. In the center of the vast, futuristic hall rose a towering command platform. A middle-aged man in a tailored black uniform, adorned with intricate time symbols, stood atop it, exuding authority and enigma. Two silver-armored TVA agents escorted Deadpool to him with firm courtesy.

"Hello, Wade Wilson—Mr. Johnson, or as we prefer, Deadpool," the man said, his voice deep and magnetic. He offered a smile and extended his hand. "I'm in charge here. Call me Mr. Paradox."

Deadpool blinked, a sly grin creeping across his face. "Handsome, you sure you're not the bad guy from some cheesy '80s flick?" His tone dripped with his signature irreverence.

Mr. Paradox chuckled, shaking his head. "Our timeline's far more complex and thrilling than any movie, Wade. This is the Time Variance Authority, an entity beyond your world. Our mission is to safeguard the sacred timeline, ensuring history rolls forward on its destined path, free from chaos." He paused, catching himself, then added, "Such disruptions are rare, but when they occur, we reset the deviants in the Void."

Deadpool raised an eyebrow. "So, you nabbed me because I used Cable's time gizmo to bring back a few folks?"

Mr. Paradox smiled. "We invited you here, Mr. Wilson, to offer you a role in our organization. Help us maintain timeline stability."

Deadpool glanced around. The walls were lined with countless monitors, each a window into different timelines. Iron Man battled in space, Bruce Banner roared as the Hulk, the X-Men fought united against evil—familiar yet fresh. One screen caught his eye: Thor, clutching someone tightly, tears streaming down his face in grief.

"Thor? Looks like he lost something big," Deadpool muttered, stepping closer. Mr. Paradox gently blocked him. "That's the future, Wade. A time yet to come. Every choice ripples through time, and we must avoid meddling with what's not yet set."

(Seriously, what's up with Thor? Looked like he was hugging Hawkeye—or maybe me? That half-mask was totally my style. Anyone got answers? I kinda dig Thor. Guy's a beast, Deadpool said, winking at the fourth wall.)

"So, you in?" Mr. Paradox pressed.

Deadpool's eyes lit up, fixed on the screens. Finally! A team wanted him! No more rejection. He'd be a superhero, Avengers-style, saving the universe!

"Hell yeah, Marvel sent me to save the future! I'm the chosen one!" Deadpool whooped.

He didn't fully grasp why Mr. Paradox wanted him or what the TVA did, but someone valued him, and that was enough.

"Count me in, but I need my battle gear!"

With TVA staff assistance, Deadpool donned a sleek new suit. Strutting back to Mr. Paradox, he grinned. "You guys got sweet perks! Designers are top-notch, though their spanking fetish is weird. And adamantium blades? That's the good stuff!"

Deadpool's old gear was cheap metal, but these were next-level. Adamantium—the priciest metal on Earth, same as Wolverine's claws. He'd always coveted it but could never afford it.

The TVA's benefits were winning him over fast.

As he got comfortable with the new gear, Deadpool's loyalty to the TVA surged. Beyond the high-tech toys, the place gave him a sense of belonging. He was pumped for his first mission, picturing himself zipping through time, tackling challenges only the TVA could handle.

"What's the job?" Deadpool asked, eyes gleaming with anticipation. "Once I sign up, I'm telling my pals I found a crew! Let those X-Men who snubbed me choke on it!" His voice carried a mix of defiance and pride.

Mr. Paradox's response doused his excitement like ice water. "Mr. Wilson, you've misunderstood." His tone was steady, grave. "You can't return to your timeline."

"What? You saying I'm stuck here?" Deadpool's voice cracked, his bravado crumbling.
