The two Peters now deeply regretted not wearing their combat uniforms—without them, they didn't dare fire web shots at the green behemoth before them.
Faced with an assault from this monster, Peter Parker had no choice but to evade.
He swung away, trailing webs through the air to avoid Abomination's vicious attacks.
Instead of driving forward, however, he turned around and launched a counterattack against the creature.
Meanwhile, Paul Walker wasn't so lucky. To dodge the oncoming Abomination, he swerved hard—but crashed into a tree on the roadside. The impact nearly knocked him unconscious, but thankfully, he wasn't seriously injured.
Behind them, Iceman was driving and had seen it all.
His sense of justice flared to life. He wanted to stop the car immediately to help Peter and the others deal with the green monster.
But Pyro slammed a hand against the dashboard, stopping him.
"What are you doing? You trying to throw the race?" Pyro shouted angrily.
"You want me to sit back while this green freak wrecks everything? This isn't part of Alex Ray's arrangement! That thing is obviously an enemy!" Iceman shot back, equally furious.
He couldn't stand this kind of apathy.
He had been in Hell's Kitchen for a while now. Aside from Dr. Banner, he had never seen another person capable of transforming into a green monster like this. He knew the weight of his responsibility—he couldn't let innocent people get hurt.
But Pyro dismissed it with a glance at the beat-up black Dodge Charger speeding toward them.
"Think. What's that thing even going to destroy? Don't forget where we are. Look around. Do you see anyone actually hurt? Alex Ray is watching."
Pyro didn't care about the lives of ordinary people. He cared about one thing—winning—and the mutant cause.
"Go! Someone else'll deal with it!" Pyro shouted, scowling into the rearview mirror as the black Charger approached. He hated being followed and kept urging Iceman to hit the gas.
But Iceman just sat there, stiff in the driver's seat like a statue. He didn't answer. He didn't budge. He just stared at Pyro, waiting.
Pyro understood. Unless he did something, Iceman wasn't going to move. With a sigh of frustration, Pyro shoved open the door and stepped out.
"I'll deal with it. You keep driving!" he barked, convincing himself that this, too, was for mutant justice. He slammed the door and turned to face the rampaging green monster—Abomination.
Pyro took a deep breath and channeled all his firepower into a blazing inferno, hurling a searing arc of flame straight at Abomination's torso.
At the same time, Knuckle—the Vongola Family's Guardian of the Clear Sky—made the same choice.
Without hesitation, he leapt from his vehicle, fists at the ready to go head-to-head with the monster.
The two Ninja Turtles—Michelangelo in an orange bandana and Leonardo with his blue—followed right behind him, wielding their nunchaku and twin katana, ready to fight for justice.
Dwayne Hobson hit the brakes, jumped out, pulled his pistol, and opened fire on Abomination.
Bullets zipped through the air in silver arcs, slamming into the green beast.
All of them attacked together.
Abomination let out a guttural roar, infuriated that these insect-like humans dared to challenge him.
With a howl, he charged toward them, smashing down the street like a living tank.
Pyro's flames raged forward, Knuckle's punches slammed like hammers, the Turtles' weapons shimmered with steel and speed, and Hobson's bullets cut gashes into green flesh.
Still, Abomination howled and lunged, swinging massive fists at anything in reach.
At that moment, Dominic Toretto sped past the chaos. He didn't stop. Didn't hesitate. He had no interest in joining the battle. He saw his chance—and took it.
To him, their lives weren't his concern. First place was all that mattered.
"Idiots! Stopping in the middle of the race? Who cares if those nobodies in Hell's Kitchen die!" Roman Pearce shouted from the passenger seat, laughing and dancing as if it were all a party.
Dominic glanced at the rearview mirror—watching those brave fools throw themselves at Abomination—and then hit the gas harder. He didn't look back again.
All that mattered was victory.
. . . . .
Dr. Bruce Banner had passed out earlier from sheer exhaustion, Happy Hogan beside him to watch over him. Now, he slowly came to, still dazed.
He sat up and adjusted his glasses, eyes locking on the screen in front of him.
A towering green figure was causing havoc in Hell's Kitchen.
His heart skipped a beat. A strange emotion bubbled up inside him.
"Did Hulk leave me?" he murmured, voice trembling with confusion and fear.
He squinted at the monitor and frowned. Something felt... off.
This green monster—it wasn't quite Hulk.
The head shape was different. The proportions, too.
Banner removed his glasses, rubbed his eyes, and slid them back on. He stared harder.
It wasn't Hulk. Not exactly.
He took a deep breath and tried to compose himself.
That's when he felt it—the stirring inside.
The Hulk.
Banner looked down, hands trembling slightly.
"You feel it too?" he whispered, as if speaking to a child.
Banner wasn't the same man who once feared the Hulk.
Thanks to the enhanced suppression hairpin Alex Ray had given him, he could now control the Hulk, even communicate—at least in a simple way.
He had come to understand that Hulk wasn't just a monster.
He was powerful, yes—but at heart, a child. A five-year-old looking for friendship, acceptance, and safety.
And now?
Hulk was angry.
He wanted out.
Because someone was destroying Hell's Kitchen.
That's right—Hulk loved this place.
This wasn't always the case. At first, Banner had been reluctant to let Hulk out in the neighborhood. But with assurances from Alex Ray and other doctors, he'd allowed it.
The first time Hulk appeared in Hell's Kitchen, the residents were terrified.
But as time passed, people realized the truth—he wasn't scary at all.
He wandered the streets like a gentle giant. A child in a monstrous body.
Eventually, they began to welcome him.
Kids played near him. Shopkeepers greeted him. Even the elderly waved as he walked by.
Hulk became a part of Hell's Kitchen.
He belonged here.
And now, someone was threatening it.
Banner could feel Hulk's fury boiling inside him.
"Let's go," he said quietly. "Let's go protect your Hell's Kitchen."
