Loki looked at Odin lying motionless on the ground, his face silent but his mind racing with panic.
Though he had long claimed to hate Odin, the years they had shared had forged complicated feelings that made it impossible for Loki to feel nothing at all.
Seeing Odin so still, Loki suddenly felt a pang of sorrow. He just wanted Odin to know he wasn't any less worthy than Thor.
Cautiously, he moved closer to Odin's prone form, afraid that his worst fears might come true—that Odin might actually be dead.
His heart was gripped by anxiety and confusion. He didn't know what to do next.
At that moment, Kaito Daiki—known in some circles as Kamen Rider Diend—appeared silently behind Loki.
With a mocking smile, Kaito said, "Hey, did you piss off your father enough to kill him? I didn't expect you to be so weak, but you sure are good at talking big.
Shouldn't you be celebrating? Odin is down, and your brother Thor is gone too. This is the perfect moment to claim the throne."
Loki, still consumed with worry, ignored the taunts. Though Kaito's words had some truth, Loki's thoughts remained with Odin.
Seeing Loki's confusion, Kaito added with a sly grin, "Don't worry. Your father isn't dead—he's just in a coma."
Relief flooded Loki as he saw the faint rise and fall of Odin's chest.
"Someone, please! Help!" Loki shouted urgently.
His voice echoed through the halls of Asgard.
Soon, two soldiers appeared and carefully lifted Odin's unconscious form, rushing him off for medical treatment.
As the soldiers disappeared down the corridor, Kaito resumed his teasing. "Now the throne of Asgard is yours, Loki. Thor's off on Earth, and Odin's knocked out cold. When Thor returns and finds you sitting on the throne, do you think he'll let you keep it?"
Loki's sadness shifted instantly to anger.
He spun around, eyes flashing cold fire as he glared fiercely at Kaito.
"The throne of Asgard belongs to me—Thor will never come back."
In that moment, Loki transformed. His gaze hardened, burning with determination. He was resolved to prove he was just as capable as Thor, maybe even more so.
"This is my destiny," Loki declared, grabbing the Ice Box—a powerful artifact—and strode out of the treasure chamber without a backward glance.
Kaito watched Loki's retreating figure and smiled faintly. There was something familiar about this guy. Both of them craved recognition and respect.
He was reminded of his first encounter with Kadoya Tsukasa.
Though he spoke harsh truths, he couldn't bear to truly abandon his brother or Odin.
Kaito looked forward to witnessing the twisted bond between Loki and Thor unfold.
"Without Thor, your life will be lonely," Kaito called out as he followed Loki out.
In a small town in New Mexico, inside a quiet restaurant,
Three figures sat at a corner table: two women and an older man, all staring at a blond, muscular man across from them.
The blond man was rugged and solidly built, his golden hair gleaming under the restaurant lights.
He devoured waffles with such hunger it seemed he was trying to swallow his sorrows whole.
Darcy frowned, suspicion and concern mixing in her gaze as she looked at the blond man.
"How did you get here? And why are you eating like that?" she asked, puzzled.
The man ignored her question, taking a sip from his cup, a satisfied smile curling his lips.
"I like this drink," he said softly.
Just as everyone expected him to calm down and enjoy his meal, the blond man suddenly smashed the cup against the floor.
The cup shattered with a loud crash, fragments scattering everywhere.
"Another drink!" he demanded boldly, his tone unruly and fierce.
The sudden outburst startled the two women, who exchanged wide-eyed looks, silently wondering if he was unhinged.
The restaurant owner heard the noise and approached with a frown, curious about the disturbance.
Helpless, the two women began cleaning up the mess.
Lewis muttered to Jane Foster, "I told you something's wrong with this guy. His name's Saul, but he looks like he belongs in a psychiatric ward."
Jane looked at the blond man with a mixture of doubt and worry.
"Can you try to be normal for once? I'll buy you another drink, but please stop acting like this. After this meal, I'm calling the police to take you home."
The man, clearly Thor Odinson, froze, then looked up at Jane with a complex expression flickering in his eyes.
"I can't go home," he said quietly. "My father has given up on me. I'm a failure."
He lowered his head again and continued eating, as if trying to fill the void inside with food.
Professor Erik Selvig, growing tired of Thor's erratic behavior, sighed and said, "Enough. Tell me your name and where you're from—just don't say you're Thor, son of Odin.
Otherwise, the only place left for you is a mental hospital. They probably have Odin there too… maybe even Jesus."
Selvig wasn't done. He sneered, "You're such a weirdo. You look like an uneducated brat. If I were your father, I'd throw you out."
Thor's anger exploded.
He slammed the table, stood up, and shouted, "Show me some respect! I am Thor Odinson, God of Thunder, future king of Asgard, lord of the Nine Realms—and your future king!
How dare you mortals be so disrespectful!"
Instead of awe, his outburst only made others think he was crazed.
Whispers spread. Some people laughed openly.
The two women chuckled, convinced this so-called Thor was insane.
Jane joined in the teasing, "Excuse me, Mr. Thor, do you have any friends with normal names? Maybe we can track down your home through them and get you back safely."
Thor paused, then remembered.
He did have a friend on Earth—Alex Ray.
He didn't expect Alex to be famous, certainly not like him, but he answered, "I do have a friend named Alex Ray."
What surprised Thor was the reaction.
Not only did the two women exchange shocked glances, but even the older man who had just mocked him looked genuinely stunned.
"Alex Ray?" the older man said, eyes wide. "Are you sure Alex Ray is your friend?"
Darcy eyes widened as well. "Alex Ray? You mean that Alex Ray?"
Thor looked at their surprised expressions and felt confused.
How could Alex Ray be more well-known than Thor, the God of Thunder?
Impossible.
