The circle of death tightened.

Seven full-fledged demons stood with power dripping from every limb, their bodies monstrous and jagged, faces shaped by hatred and age. Fifty lesser demons snarled behind them, a storm of bloodlust and feral instincts, crawling on walls, creeping across the scorched ground, some already circling, waiting to pounce.

But Jason?

He stood perfectly still.

Just the quiet hum of cursed energy radiating from beneath his skin — growing sharper, deadlier.

He took a single breath, eyes scanning every movement.

'Lesser demons will come first. Feral. Stupid. But coordinated. They'll rush in waves. The big ones will wait until I'm tired. Good. Let them watch'

The first lesser demon leapt.

Jason didn't move.

His finger twitched. "Dismantle."

A thin, near-invisible slash ripped the demon from jaw to pelvis. Before the gore even hit the ground, Jason spun into a roll to the left, dodging two more that lunged from behind.

He swept his leg low — one tripped. The other dove into the arc of a glowing claw.

It didn't scream. It never had the chance.

Jason flowed forward like water, his movements like dance — but every step left blood behind.

A claw to the throat. A finger flick that sent cursed energy into a skull, imploding it from within. He ducked under a pounce and kicked off a wall, flipping high into the air, mid-air slicing five approaching demons with Spiderweb, cursed strings cutting limbs like paper.

From above, he counted.

'Forty-three left'

He dropped like a spear, feet-first into a lesser demon's face, snapping its skull. Then he twisted and slashed sideways — Cleave — splitting two more. Another tried to grab his leg.

He didn't dodge.

Instead, he let it, and the second it held him, he whispered, "Cleave."

Its arm fell off. Then its neck. Jason didn't even look.

From the shadows, one of the full demons finally stepped forward.

"You... what are you?" it snarled, voice rumbling like thunder.

Jason smiled, breathing lightly.

"Just someone who doesn't belong here."

Six lesser demons charged from behind. Jason didn't turn.

Dismantle lashed in a wide arc — their legs went first. Then he pivoted and slammed his foot on the head of the closest crawling one.

Thirty-two.

He dodged a barrage of fireballs without looking — his senses stretching through the cursed energy in the air like radar. One, two, three fireballs — then silence. The moment he predicted, he leapt sideways and slammed his elbow into the jaw of a demon mid-pounce.

'I know your rhythm now'

Another wave came, ten strong this time, trying to surround him. Jason grinned.

He ran toward them.

At the last second, he bent low and planted his hand on the ground — Spiderweb burst in every direction, threads lacing through throats, limbs, jaws.

He pulled his arm once.

Nine heads dropped like fruit. The last one screamed, only for Jason to snap its spine with a kick.

The talking demon growled again.

"You fight like a cursed thing. Like a witch—what are you?!"

Jason's hand glowed faintly, then he clenched it.

"Stronger than you."

The demon hissed. "You mock the Lords of Hell, mortal?"

Jason laughed — sharp, cold, tired. "No. I kill them."

And the second wave began.

Four of the seven full demons now charged him.

They were not like the lesser ones. Bigger. Faster. Smarter. Their movements were coordinated — one spat acidic mist, another struck from above with a chain-blade tail. The third warped the air, distorting light, while the fourth came charging with brute strength.

Jason exhaled, braced his stance.

'Let's test the theory'

The acid came first — he sidestepped and pulled one of the dying lesser demons into its path. The corpse melted instantly, the distraction giving him a second to slide under the charging brute, launching Dismantle into its calf.

It buckled — he jumped, twisted mid-air, and landed on its back.

Then—

Cleave.

Its head didn't split cleanly, too thick. But it cracked. Jason jumped off before the others reached him, landing in a crouch and immediately rolling away as chains whipped past where he'd been.

'One almost down. Three pressing hard'

They surrounded him. Blades. Fire. Acid. Warped cursed techniques that blurred their hands and attacks.

Jason moved with elegance — ducking one, letting the other graze his shoulder so he could land a punch on the chain demon's jaw. His other hand snapped out — cursed claws slashed across a face.

But it was too much. Too many angles. Too many sharp movements. He backed away, cursed energy flickering.

"Tch. Time to call in a friend."

He extended his hand.

"Kamutoke."

The sky darkened instantly.

From thin air, a weapon materialized in his palm — the Vajra. Ancient. Hungry. The moment it touched him, the atmosphere around him snapped with tension.

The demons hesitated.

Jason raised it skyward.

A bolt of divine lightning fell.

Not from the clouds — from the cursed heavens above Hell itself. It crashed into the acid demon, melting its entire body into ash.

Jason's eyes gleamed. "One down."

He swung Kamutoke once — a wave of electrified cursed energy swept the battlefield, slicing the second demon and electrifying the third. He didn't give them time to react.

Spiderweb into Cleave.

Two more demons fell.

'Three left. Plus... whatever stragglers remain'

Jason's breath was heavier now. His fingers twitched. Cuts laced across his back and ribs, and cursed energy pulsed wildly in his core.

But his eyes?

Sharp. Focused.

The final three demons snarled and charged together, wings stretched wide, spells ready. The leader among them roared, "This is impossible! What are you?!"

Jason grinned, blood running down his chin.

"Your extinction."

He slammed Kamutoke into the ground — and cursed lightning exploded in every direction. The two flanking demons were caught instantly, their bodies twisted and burned. The last one leapt into the air — wings spreading.

Jason raised his hand.

Dismantle.

The wings were severed.

The demon fell — and Jason was already there, crouching like a beast.

"Cleave."

One clean slash. Head gone.

Silence fell.

The ground was a graveyard now.

Blood, limbs, heads — nothing had survived.

Almost nothing.

A soft whimper crawled from behind a shattered rock. Jason turned — it was one of the lesser demons. Its body was broken, one arm gone, legs crushed.

It looked up at him.

"P-please... please no... mercy..."

Jason's eyes narrowed.

His clawed hand lifted—

Paused.

He stared for a long moment. The demon trembled.

Jason's grip tightened around the lesser demon's neck, lifting it slightly as it squirmed in pain. His eyes narrowed."You talk...?"

"Y-Yes!" the demon coughed out, voice strained. "Not all of us do, but... but some lesser demons used to be human... like me..."

Jason's expression sharpened. "You were human?"

"Yes, sir... I—"

Jason's fingers clenched harder. The demon choked."Explain."

"P-Please! The Lords... the Lord Demons... They're the ones who run this place. Hell's torturers. While demons like us — lesser or otherwise — we're just the hands that do the work. The souls sent here, they're treated like currency. We torture them, break them. The Lords collect the broken ones... like taxes!"

Jason said nothing, eyes unblinking.

The demon kept talking fast, desperate to stay alive."They eat most of the souls. But they share some with us, to strengthen their armies — like payment. Each Lord rules their own domain. And they hate each other. They compete over territory — over who has more souls, more humans to torture. It's like... like some kind of twisted economy!"

Jason's jaw tightened."Hell has a damn political and economic system... and that still doesn't explain how you were human."

The demon flinched at the tone."Some souls don't break. Not easily. The Lords say those are the darkest ones — too stubborn to crack, too evil to be redeemed. So instead of consuming them, they transform them... into demons. They say it's a promotion. A reward. We take it, hoping someday we'll become Lords ourselves..."

Jason's brows lifted slightly."So every demon in hell... was once human?"

"Yes! All of them. From the Lords down. Most just lose themselves — go feral, lose their shape. But some of us..." the demon looked down, ashamed, "...some of us stay... aware."

Jason's voice lowered."And Lucifer? Where does he stand in all of this?"

The demon hesitated. "Lucifer was the King. The true King of Hell. The Lords gather souls — and they give tribute to the Seven Deadly Sins. And the Seven Sins... they offer their share to Lucifer. At least... they used to."

Jason's eyes narrowed."Used to?"

The demon trembled."Rumors say Lucifer vanished. Over a thousand years ago. Left Hell. Since then... there's a new King."

Jason's voice turned cold."Who?"

The demon whispered. "The Sin of Wrath....Satan."

The moment the word was uttered, the air shattered.

A violent arc of cursed energy cleaved through the air — blinding, precise, merciless. It tore the demon in half and sliced through Jason's arm at the wrist. Blood sprayed.

Jason recoiled, quickly regenerating — his eyes locking onto the source of the attack.

A man stepped forward, tall, regal, clad in a tailored black suit. His eyes burned with depthless scorn. His hair was dark as midnight, and his presence — sharp as a dagger — consumed everything.

He stared down at Jason as if measuring his worth.

"How dare a lesser speak The King's name..." the man said with venom.

Jason didn't flinch. His expression hardened.

'A Lord...' he thought.
