Snowflakes swirled over Arendelle in the pale morning light. This week, the weather had continued its relentless hold on the kingdom, and yet within the castle walls, hearts were trembling with another kind of turbulence.

Ethan stirred by the fireplace in the great hall as Anna entered, tray in hand. The glow of the embers warmed her face.

"Coffee?" she asked, offering a steaming mug.

He accepted and smiled, "Thanks. You're up early too?"

Anna shrugged, a shy grin curling her lips. "Early nights make early mornings. Besides, I wanted to talk. About… how things feel."

Ethan looked at her across the flickering light, sensing the unspoken affection between them.

"Me too," he said softly.

They settled on a cushion near the hearth. Outside, guards patrolled the courtyard; inside, the castle pulsed with quiet purpose disrupted only by their voices.

"We've grown up so much."

Anna cradled her mug. "Remember that morning in the garden? It felt like the whole world changed with one kiss."

He chuckled: "You nearly knocked me over."

She laughed and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "Worth it."

Their moment glowed with gentle intimacy as they shared a silence filled with potential and tenderness.

Elsa's Door

A soft knock interrupted them. Anna glanced up.

Without speaking, Ethan moved to open the door. Elsa stood there, cloak drawn tightly, the soft snow glinting in her pale hair.

Anna jumped to her feet. "Elsa! I wasn't expecting you."

Elsa's expression was thoughtful. "I might need your help."

Ethan stepped aside. "Of course."

She led them to a quiet corridor where few would overhear. Her voice lowered: "I heard it again last night—the hum."

Anna and Ethan exchanged looks. The hum had grown louder to Elsa; sometimes, she could only just hear it.

Going North

They reconvened with Kristoff in the library. The map of Arendelle lay open.

"Three days from here is that ruined shrine," Kristoff said, eyes steady. "It's abandoned, but old stories say there were… beings there long ago."

Ethan stepped forward. "If the hum calls Elsa—if it's part of her… maybe that's our best lead."

Anna laid her hand on his. "We go with you. All of us. Together."

Elsa looked at her and Ethan with gratitude. "Thank you."

The Emotional Hearth

That evening, the sisters shared tea in Anna's room. Warm lights glowed around them.

Anna spoke first: "Elsa, I know you've feared your magic. But now—something's asking you to learn, not run."

Elsa nodded. "I wasn't ready before. But with… everything — seeing you safe, seeing Ethan… I think I can face it."

Anna reached across the table. "You're not alone."

Ethan and Elsa Walk

Outside later, Ethan joined Elsa at the balcony.

She gazed into the distance, the sky deepening to dusk.

"Heard it too?" she whispered.

He nodded. "Most felt it in the castle—winds, tremors. But not louder. To me, it's still… background static. To you, it's music."

She closed her eyes. He watched, admiring her strength.

Night by the Fire

Anna and Ethan ended their evening by the fireplace.

Anna leaned in. "Ethan, can I ask—are you scared?"

Ethan didn't take his eyes off the flames. "Sure. Not knowing how I got here… not knowing what's next. Even now, with you…" His voice caught. "But the fear isn't what I want to focus on."

Anna placed her hand over his. "What do you want?"

He looked at her, warmth spreading. "To keep doing this." He gestured to the fire, the room, and her. "To keep building something real—with you."

Anna's eyes filled with tears of joy. "That's more than I asked for."

They shared a long, careful kiss, warmth melting away the chill.

The Hearth's Warning

That night, Ethan awoke to a tremor beneath him.

Soft—it caught at his shoe. He glanced at Anna, sleeping peacefully. Then he recognized it: the familiar hum that weighed on Elsa.

He raised himself and left the room quietly to find Elsa on the balcony again.

Snow spun around them as the hum vibrated through the cold stone.

Elsa closed her eyes, trembling. "It's stronger."

Ethan reached for her hand. "We're ready when you are."

Anna joined them over the balcony, her own worry and love shining in her eyes.

As the three stood together, the hum paused for a heartbeat—then deepened with purpose, calling them to the distant mountains once more.
