The next thing Mileena felt was a strike against her cheeks. Her lips were torn and red painted her lips.
"How dare you talk to us like that?" Betty questioned, rage evident on her face. "This was exactly what I was talking about. You've only met Hailey today and you're already starting to disrespect us. Where are your manners, Mileena?"
Mileena wiped her blood with the back of her hands.
She was more than flabbergasted that her mother had raised her hands on her. They always treated her like a child, always minding what she ate or who she spoke with, or the goal she pursued in life.
