Chapter 13 - The Flame That Weeps

"You will never understand the cost of power… until it looks at you like it's asking to be free."

— Rahul, from the Memory Flame

Scene 1: Dominion Citadel – Aftermath of the Vault

Kaien stood under the dark sky, shirt torn, eyes no longer red… but silver — glowing like cracked mirrors.

Valenya watched him from the balcony.

"He's changing," she whispered to Aeyra.

"Is it bad?" the little seer asked.

Valenya didn't answer.

Because she saw it too:

The Voidflame wasn't just reacting to Kaien.

It was mourning.

Like a living thing… grieving the one who had carried it before.

Scene 2: Kaien's Isolation

Kaien couldn't sleep.

He sat at the center of the training chamber — motionless — while a storm of black flame rotated around him like orbiting knives.

He wasn't meditating.

He was listening.

Because from deep inside his chest…

"You're not me," said Rahul's voice.

Kaien opened his eyes.

"And you're not supposed to be."

The flame floating inside him pulsed.

Rahul continued:

"You carry the future, not the past. So stop trying to mimic my shadow…"

"…and start casting your own."

Scene 3: Olivia's Breakdown – Truth of the Celestial Queen

Meanwhile, Olivia stood before the Eternal Archive, a library only accessible to the direct line of the Celestial Empress.

She found her mother's personal records.

A diary.

And inside:

"Rahul came to me once. Long ago. He asked for silence, not alliance."

"He warned me: 'If I ever disappear… and your daughter meets my heir… don't interfere.'"

"I laughed. I thought he was joking. I didn't know…"

The page was torn there.

Olivia's hands shook.

"Mother… you knew?"

She fell to her knees, and the Starcore Bloom inside her erupted — divine wings bursting from her back in raw light.

A whisper followed in her ears:

"You were meant to find him."

Scene 4: The Fifth — Revealed

Elsewhere, in a prison carved from anti-gravity fields and divine flame…

A boy sat cross-legged, chains burning his skin.

He looked 15. But his eyes?

Timeless.

Every few hours, the cultists tried to extract something from him.

Nothing worked.

One guard sneered: "Why won't you scream?"

The boy looked up slowly.

"Because Rahul never screamed."

"And I was his last student."

Name: ??? (Revealed in Chapter 14)

Role: Fifth Main Character

Trait: Mimics others' power by memory

Hidden Power: Rahul's last martial technique — The Pulse Without Sound

He looked to the sky.

"Kaien… you finally opened the Vault."

"Now hurry up. I'm getting bored waiting."

Scene 5: Kaien's Flame Mutation

Back at the Citadel…

Kaien began to float.

Voidflame circled him faster — but this time, it wasn't attacking.

It was changing.

Crystallizing. Sharpening.

His bones cracked. His breath turned black. His heart skipped, then restarted.

Valenya rushed in. "KAIEN!"

He fell.

But before he hit the ground — he caught himself mid-air.

Floating. Balanced.

His aura calmed.

"I'm okay," he said, breathing hard. "Just… evolving."

He looked at his palm.

The Voidflame was now… silent.

Controlled.

And stronger than ever.

Scene 6: Final Words from Rahul

In the Vault, the memory flame pulsed once more.

And every character who carried his blood — Valenya, Aeyra, even Renar — heard the same sentence whispered in their minds.

"Prepare yourselves. The shadows I sealed are waking up."

"And this time… I won't be there to stop them."
