July 13, 2044, Teyvat Dimension, Day 4
Recorder: Eileen Custer
Sorry everyone, I wasn't feeling well yesterday. I believe Karl has already explained it to you. Anyway, we have good news today, so let's start today's log.
At 1:00 a.m. this morning, we were checked by the Millelith, but they didn't notice us. We got through it smoothly and survived the night. The next day, we headed to Liyue Harbor to investigate the cause of the Geo Archon's death. To avoid being recognized, we changed into Liyue-style clothes.
"Hi, do you want to check out the services of our Wangsheng Funeral Parlor?" A girl who looked only fifteen or sixteen years old came over and said to us.
"No, thank you. No one in my family has passed away," we replied briefly and tried to leave.
"From the way you look, you're not from Teyvat, are you? Why not sit down and chat for a while?" We felt embarrassed to refuse, because she had actually figured out that we were from Earth.
We followed her into the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor and sat down. "Don't be so stiff, just relax. My name is Hu Tao, the current Director of Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. Since you're Descenders from another world, what's your world like?"
"Our world? We have technology a hundred times more advanced than yours. However, although our material life is abundant, our spirits are already exhausted. In our world, wars break out frequently because every country fights for its own interests and power..." I told Hu Tao.
Hu Tao didn't reply, as if she was mourning for our Earth. At that moment, an adult man walked in.
"Oh, you're back. Everyone, this is Zhongli, the consultant of Wangsheng Funeral Parlor."
"Greetings, everyone," Zhongli said.
"Hello," the three of us greeted Zhongli.
"Mr. Zhongli, do you know where Rex Lapis, the Geo Archon Morax, is?" I asked.
"Well, I don't know. I heard from the Qixing that he was assassinated? Maybe you can ask the Fatui Harbinger 'Childe'—he might have some information," Zhongli replied.
"Okay, I see," I responded. We left the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. The streets of Liyue were crowded with people, presenting a prosperous scene.
"The Geo Archon's death doesn't seem to have any impact on the people of Liyue," Hamke said.
"Eileen, is it possible that the Geo Archon just faked his death? After all, the words 'god' and 'assassination' can't be connected at all," Karl also said to me.
"We can't look at this world from an Earthling's perspective. Here, anything is possible," I said. They didn't speak anymore and followed me as we continued walking.
What happened next shocked all of us. We learned that the Geo Archon wasn't assassinated, but died from divine punishment. This news was beyond our expectation. It meant that we had now cleared our names, but we couldn't find out about our colleagues' whereabouts through the Geo Archon either—staying in Liyue was no longer meaningful.
We walked for a long time and found a random place to sit down.
"Ah!" I screamed. There seemed to be something under my buttocks. I picked it up—it was a red, glass-like object. I knew very well that this was a Vision, and now I could use elemental power.
I snatched the Glock from Karl's hand, aimed at the distance, and pulled the trigger. The bullet was fired. I fired several shots in a row, and each one fired successfully. Karl and Hamke stared at me in shock.
"The gun works now?"
"I have a Vision. I can use Pyro elemental power to fire the bullets," I explained. This would definitely be of great use in our future journey. It was time to let the people of this world see the power of technology. Although I was a scientist, I had also received certain military training and could handle ordinary small-caliber carbines.
According to my investigation, the next country we are going to is called "Inazuma"—a country that has closed its borders. To sneak in, we have to cross the thunderstorm area. However, I heard that there is a Crux Fleet in Liyue that can smuggle people to Inazuma. Let's not talk about anything else for now. See you tomorrow.
