Elián;
My reflection in the shut window looks like a stranger waiting for my permission to speak.
Lips are sealed shut, and mind clearly miles away.
I stare at my eyes, my hair, how much weight I've gained, and how much life now resides in my once shallow eyes.
"It's intriguing how alike we look," Elien speaks, suddenly breaking the silence in my mind, and I jerk in fright.
"Jesus, Elien! You gotta stop doing that. You scared me!" I retort inwardly and there's silence.
"Sorry." He replies and I stare at my… at our face.
"Elien… are you okay with what's going on?" I question as I realise that I haven't had any proper conversation about things with him.
"Okay with what?" He replies and I move closer to the window.
I touch my face and a pang of guilt rises in my chest.
