"Chester we barely spend any time together", Britney whined as she trailed behind Chester.
Chester had a look of annoyance on his face as he tried ignoring the girl following him. Having just returned from patrolling around the local villages, he doesn't feel like dealing with her.
"Chester, can you just talk to me please", She whispered loud enough for him to hear.
Chester rolled his, but ended up slowing down enough for her to keep up with his walking speed. He wants to keep up the appearances of dating her for now, seeing how she is a good cover. Chester has been secretly coveting one of the grimoires to increase his powers.
One of the major reasons why he has been doing more, and more patrols recently was to find some close to the school. Even if he had to kill one of his classmates he would do it if it meant that he would get stronger.
"Chester are you even listening to me", Briteny said as she grabbed onto his right arm sleeve.
"Sorry, I didn't hear what you said. My mind has been weary lately due to all the missions I've been taking.", Chester admitted.
"I'm worried about you Chester, ever since you helped train the new student it's like you've changed."
Chester shook his head in defiance as he looked down at her. "I'll admit I've been busier lately but I just want to get stronger."
"How much stronger do you need to get? You are already set to graduate from the academy, and are also considered one of the strongest in the class.", She explained.
Chester stopped walking, turning to face her. He felt a small part of disgust at the worry on her face. Doing his best to not show it on his face.
"You weren't there for us getting attacked by the army of goblins Brit.", Chester sighed. Reaching out and slowly cupping her face with his hand.
Chester tried to wipe some of the tears off her face. "No matter what we did, they kept coming. And if the cyclops decided to attack instead of staying back I would've died too.", He finished.
"Chester I..", Britney cut off as she cried harder, tears coming down her face.
Chester felt anger, but did his best to school his facial expressions. Pulling her into a hug as he felt the wetness go down his chest. He couldn't help but think she's weak.
If Chester didn't need to keep pretending to be the perfect little soldier he would've killed her by now. Soon he'll get what he needs, then he can drop this facade.
"How about this I'll go get cleaned up, and we can spend tonight together. I'll even take tomorrow off now training just spending time with you.", Chester offered hoping it'll cease her endless crying.
"That sounds good.", Britney answered, taking a step back, wiping her eyes. "Plus you really need a shower. You smell like burnt leather and death."
Chester nodded in agreement, showing her a small smile. "I need to really clean this armor of mine too. With all the training I've been doing I haven't been really spending enough time taking care of myself."
"Oh oh I can help clean your armor while you shower.", Britney stated. Her previous sad look became a more happy one.
Chester gently took her hand as he began walking towards his dorm room. "Honestly thank you for everything you do Brit. I couldn't imagine not having you in my life."
Britney's face lit up with a huge smile at hearing that. "You never have to thank me Chester. I love you, and I always do my best to help you.", She told him in a loving tone.
Chester grimaced, but did his best not to show it. He quickly pulled her along in the hallway hoping to stop more of this conversation from happening.
Lyra wasn't training for once as she laid in the bed thinking. After breakfast with the leaders she discovered that Mercer has denied all attempts at talking. Nor has he declared war on the cycloops yet.
It hurts Lyra to know that after all these years Mercer sees her as expandable. Lyra felt as if she could cry. She really looked up to Anna and Mercer.
Lyra now found out they only wanted to use her, and saw her as a pawn. She should've left with Sami after being attacked by a vampire lord. Yet Lyra's hope that they would be better.
She laid curled up in a ball, her mind racing on what she should do. Staying her isn't an option but with how many soldiers are located on the island she's not sure if she can escape.
She also doesn't know where the island is located. Since that witch teleported her here for as she knows she's somewhere across the ocean.
Overall Lyra just feels at a loss on what to do, and with the cyclops leader wanting to marry her. She doesn't have much time left to make a choice.
Two days have passed since finding out the location of the Cyclops village. Not much to look at since it's now night for the group. The huge dragon's wings slowly flapping as they speed through the air.
To move faster Anna did cast bubbles around the group, along with a stabilizing spell. So with high hype in the air they could still breath easily, and going fast wouldn't affect them sleeping.
Though the only person at the moment is sleeping since Anna has been pestering Sami with a plan. A plan to have him go undercover as a girl to sneak onto the island. An idea that Sami hates being arguing against almost all day.
"Okay, Sami but here me out.", Anna said.
"NO!", he replied.
Anna got into his face, her eyes big. "Please", She pleaded.
"No", Sami repeated. Glaring at her with his arms crossed.
Nearing the island Anna kept trying to make up plans on how to go about saving Lyra. The plan involves Sami dressed up as a girl and asking to marry someone on the island. How that can help Lyra, the entire team doesn't know.
"How much longer do you think they'll be arguing", Angel asked Poke. She was sitting close to Poke, petting Onyx who was purring from the pets.
Poke closed his book with a frown on his face. "I don't know, but if they don't stop soon I'll be casting one of my strongest illusions on them both.
"It's not that serious yet," Angel replied.
Onyx leaned into the petting she was getting from Angel. Ignoring everyone as she enjoyed the petting.
Onyx actually did agree with Anna, not because it'll be helpful. It would be so funny getting Sami to dress up. Oh Onyx could even do his make-up! Sigh Onyx could only dream.
"Serious no, but annoying yes", Poke argued. "They're wasting energy arguing when they should be resting."
"Maybe this is how they relax," Angel said. "You ever thought that maybe this is their way of getting rid of nerves."
"Welp maybe they should do it in a better way"
"Oh come on, relax!"Angel told him. "It's not that serious, to be honest it is kind of funny. Could you imagine Sami pretending to be a girl! He would get found out so quickly."
"Why would I ever want to imagine that?"Poke rebutted. "I care more about what will happen when we get closer to the island tomorrow."
Angel shrugged her shoulders in response to his words. "I think it's something we should discuss as a team in the morning."
"That's if those idiots ever stop arguing", Poke muttered.
Angel couldn't help but snort at his complaining. Though on some level she had to agree, they have been arguing for a while.
She looked down at Onyx in her hands, a smile on her face at the small snoring. Angel knows with both Sami and Anna here with them they'll be able to escape.
"UGH YOU CAN BE SO DAMN ANNOYING!"Sami yelled as he butted heads with Anna.
"IT'LL BE ADORABLE AND EVERYONE HERE AGREES WITH ME!"Anna shouted back.
"IF YOU GUYS BOTH DON'T SHUT THE HELL UP ILL SEND ILLUSIONS TO BOTH OF YOU GUYS", Poke threatened looking up from the spot on the back of the dragon.
"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!"Both Anna and Sami said at the same time.
Poke went to say something sarcastic, before Sami lunged at him. Anna was back there cheering Sami as he put Poke in a headlock.
Sigh if she didn't know how strong Anna was she might have dropped the group off and left. They seem very unreliable, yet Angel still felt hope. A hope that they can all make it back home safe.
"SAY UNCLE", Sami demanded
I'D RATHER DIE", Poke replied.
Anna laughed out loud. "That can be arranged! End him Sami!"
Sigh maybe she might just leave them.
