"Lyra!"Sami yelled trying to reach out to grab, but it was too late.
Sami's body broke down to little particles, as it got absorbed into the bright white light. Only a second passed when he ended up in the courtyard of the academy falling to his knees. Feeling helpless that he got to safety yet Lyra was still out there.
The terrified look on her face as she suddenly dragged away from the group, away from him. Yet he was useless, another failure in his book. Another shortcoming to the academy.
"SAMI!", a voice yelled.
Causing Sami to break out of his thoughts. Coming back to reality Sami stood in front of a person dressed in full knight gear. Look around he wasn't back on the battlefield he was in part of the courtyard changed into place for training.
"Common Sami you can't get distracted.", Chester chastised him. "You asked me to help refine your combat abilities so let's get to it."
Sami nodded in agreement as he brought up a spear in his hand. Holding the spear with his feet slightly spread apart. The spear was slightly pointing towards the ground. His shoulders and arms were ready for a moment to attack.
Chester was the person that tried to attack Sami when he first met Zoe back a month ago. He was also part of the group that survived the goblin attack. Since that night he ended up apologizing to Sami for his childish actions, even offering to help refrain his combat skills.
For the past two weeks since surviving the attack he has been training in various combat skills. Oracle has even helped in the regrading in updating him when he improves in skill.

"Here I come!"Chester shouted as he changed at Sami with only sword in hand.
Sami quickly spun the back of the spear using it to knock Chester's attack off course making him stumble off balance. Sami spun the spear round his neck before slicing at Chester in response that he quickly dodged.
Chester, after dodging, stepped into Sami's guard. One of the major weaknesses of the spear is if you get too close the effectiveness runs out. Sami didn't panic as he threw a kick that Chest blocked with one arm.
Sami was too slow in dodging the returning leg sweep. Sami landed on his back hard. Chester stood over Sami, his sword at Sami's throat.
"You're getting better with the spear", Chester admitted as he offered hand to help Sami up.
Sami shook his head. "Not good enough yet.", he growled. Taking the hand as he got to his feet.
"Oh common you're being too hard on yourself.", Chester argued. "You legit have been training every weapon we have here. Heck you already surpassed me in most one hand swords including curved. And have me beat in using daggers."
"And yet I'm still losing when using a spear.", Sami replied as he started stretching his arms out.
Chester shook his head in disappointment. "Don't you think that you're pushing yourself too hard?", he inquired.
"Honestly I don't think I'm pushing hard enough", Sami answered his tone melancholy
"GOOOOOO CHESTER", yelled his girlfriend from the sidelines. She still had her bag on her which means she must have just come back to class.
Sami did his best to stifle his laughter as she jumped on the sidelines cheering on Chester.
Chester scratched his head in embarrassment. "Sorry about her haha. Do you mind if we take a break for a while."
"Meh it's fine go enjoy your girlfriend", Sami replied laughing at the pair.
Chester looked embarrassed but looked happy Sami agreed before running back towards Brittney. Sami just shook his head in amusement as turned back to doing forms. Honestly Brittney wasn't so bad, and neither was Chester once he got to know them.
Heck her and Chole even apologized to Zoe for being jerks. Which was a nice touch though Zoe really didn't care for it at this point. Speaking of Zoe, Sami's going to have to talk to herhtoroughly about O.R.A.C.L.E. Maybe even seeing if there is an upgrade so he won't have to wear gloves all the time.
He did miss the wrist bands he had along with the cool inhibitor necklace he used to have. Though since removing both he has gotten a lot stronger which is nice. Though he'll need to figure out the gravity spell so he can use it to enhance his training again.
He's trying to train as much as possible with Anna returning within the next couple of weeks. His goal is to leave and go save Lyra.
Mercer already refused to send them to go rescue her, though he never gave a reason why. Instead of getting upset Sami's been training harder going as far as to start attending the younger children's classes to gain more magical knowledge.
He's done relying on the people around here to help, knowing they only care for themselves. So everyday is morning classes whichever he could join, afternoons were dedicated to weapons training.
"SAMI!"Onyx shouted as loud as her little bunny body could shout jumping and landing on his shoulder.
"Hey Onyx", Sami causally replied. "It's nice seeing you be able to move around again."
"Right, how I missed being outside the stupid mark.", admitted Onyx.
"I thought you wanted to spend the day watching Zoe work?"Sami inquired as he leaned on his staff. Taking a break from practicing forms against his shadow.
"Oh, oh so Poke's been looking for you", Onyx answered her voice excitedly. "Apperently he wanted to talk to you about something important."
"Interesting", Sami said.
He started walking to go inside the building, making sure to wave the couple goodbye. Sami began to listen to Onyx talk about her day as she directed him to where Poke was going to be.
"So you want Sami to leave on his own to rescue Lyra?."Anna asked as she stood at Mercer's window watching Sami leave the courtyard.
Since returning from her mission the aura around Anna has changed. Not only did her hair get cut short, but the guilt in her eyes vanished. Anna was excited to come back to see Sami and Lyra. So being told Lyra was kidnapped was heart breaking.
"Yes it's just another test to see if has the skill needed to succeed for the future.", Mercer answered his eyes closed
"Seriously you can go save Lyra legit our personal student we both helped to raise, but instead you're using it as a training test. What fuck Mercer", Anna lashed out.
Mercer growled at Anna, "He needs this to grow, and grow as fast as possible. There are things only Sami will be able to handle in the future none of us will be even strong enough to think of."
"Oh so instead of you gaining power you're putting all of your hope on a teenage boy that hasn't even enrolled in the school officially yet.", Anna shot back.
"I can shoulder all the blame if this goes wrong.", Mercer said ignoring everything else.
"And you expect me to sit back and wait like you. I admit messed up by goofing off, and I'll own that. I'll do what I can to help those families and atone for my mistakes. But if you think for one second I'll allow you to keep playing games with MY STUDENTS lives. I'll show you why I'm called the blood maiden.", Anna threatened as she came to stand in front of Mercer glaring at him.
"You're naught but a child thinking your weak attempts at threatening me will work", Mercer scolded.
Raising his hand he began to clench his fist. The air around Anna's throat began to contract, making it hard for her to breath. She began clenching her throat from how tight it was beginning to become.
"I'm barely using my strength to choke you. I live in a world far beyond your pathetic powers. And you think I play with people's lives if I wanted to I could take everyone's at any time.", Mercer chastised as Anna's face grew red.
"I allowed you to goof off with Marko when I should have stopped it. Wouldn't that have been controlled huh. I give you freedom and even assigned you an important mission. To hunt down and slay the person who murdered your loved ones.", Continued Mercer as he looked at her. "I remember every single death on my watch, remember every single ONE! You think I want these children to die."
"F.ffff….fuck…. y.y.yy.you", Anna gasped out.
Mecer began to squeeze Anna's neck even harder after hearing those words. Her vision began to have spots around it as it went on.
"I didn't hear you speak up, child." Mercer mocked. He waited for a reply but didn't hear anything. "Exactly what I thought. Leave my sight before I actually add you to the growing list of names of the dead. Also make sure to protect my grandson when he inevitably decides to sneak out of the castle. Lest you earn the wrath of the Wizard King. Pathetic Blood Maiden"
Mercer didn't wait for a reply as he flung Anna out the door.
Crack!
The door shattered under the force of Mercer's strength. Anna laid on the ground with pieces of wood in her back as she gulped down as much air as she could. She didn't realize how much stronger Mercer was than her.
She thought after this mission she finally caught up to his strength, but she was wrong. Her body shivered at the thought of pissing off that man again. The Wizard king a title well deserved by him.
