Chapter 2 - CHAPTER (2)

CHAPTER (2)

Talking to an indifferent man is so exhausting. As a woman, having to take the initiative? Sakura really didn't want to. It was her parents who asked her to try dealing with Sasuke, and that alone annoyed her.

Sakura: (Back then, it was understandable—we were in high school. But now we're adults and he hasn't changed at all. He used to seem cool, now he's just childish and immature!)

Naruto laughed when he heard Sakura's story about her struggles during a date—unlike him, who had a sweet, shy, and kind girlfriend. Sakura felt envious that her fate involved marrying a man like Sasuke!

Naruto burst out laughing: "Sorry, sorry, Sakura-chan, just be patient. Maybe Sasuke will change eventually. I don't know when, though."

Sakura didn't know whether to laugh or cry when Sasuke called. He just stayed silent, not saying a word. Sakura snapped:

Sakura: "You're insane! If you're not going to talk, don't call. I'm busy!"

A message came in—an angry emoticon from Sasuke:

(ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻)

Sakura stared blankly at the message.

Sakura: "How ridiculous. Like a kid!"

Sasuke: (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻)

Sakura: (You're better suited to be a woman, you're so annoying! Child! Child!)

Sakura chuckled at the message. For some reason, Sasuke felt a bit disgusting to her now, and all his messages seemed overly dramatic!

What puzzled Sakura even more was that whenever they met, that "cool guy" would just stay silent. One sentence per conversation. Sakura wasn't even that harsh when they talked on the phone or messaged each other.

When they watched an action movie at the cinema, Sakura focused on the movie, ate her popcorn, and sipped her cola. Even if Sasuke sat there like an iceberg, Sakura didn't care. If they weren't compatible, the upside was they could cancel the wedding.

...

Sasuke came to the hospital. Sakura was surprised to see him there—he had a fever. She touched his forehead, though it wasn't serious. He came asking to be cared for and wanted to stay for a day. Sakura took care of him. Sasuke kept watching her, following whatever she did, until she decided to leave—she didn't want to take care of someone who was clearly fine.

Sasuke: "Where are you going?"

Sakura turned around: "There are a lot of patients. You're not the only one who needs care. Someone else will help you later."

Sasuke: "I don't need anyone else."

Sakura walked away without replying, ignoring Sasuke calling after her. She was already too busy. A person coming in with a slight fever—nothing serious. Sakura suspected it was just an excuse because Sasuke had nothing better to do.

Sakura stated that since Sasuke had recovered, he went home reluctantly. She smiled and turned to get back to work, thinking that Sasuke's actions were kind of cute. She slapped her own cheek to snap out of the stupid thought.

That handsome and well-groomed man looked like a boss—but Sakura knew Sasuke was more like a clown when they exchanged messages. She thought he was someone who had a hard time showing emotions. To Sakura, Sasuke was pretty weird and not normal!

Sasuke: (I'm hungry.)

Sakura: (If you're hungry, eat! There are plenty of restaurants if you want to eat out!)

Finally, Sakura got a break from Sasuke's disturbances. But not even 10 minutes passed before her phone vibrated—another message from Sasuke:

Sasuke: (How do you cook?)

Sakura: (I don't…)

Sasuke: (You can't cook?)

Sakura: (No, I can't! Happy now? Don't bother me!)

Sasuke: (Tch!)

Sakura: (Ugh!)
