Chapter 7 - CHAPTER (7)

CHAPTER (7)

Sasuke had written everything down, and the one who gave him advice was Hatake Kakashi—the handsome and popular guy! Sasuke wanted to start by complimenting Sakura's beauty, but then he reconsidered because it felt too embarrassing.

Sasuke: (I shouldn't...)

Sasuke canceled his plan, rubbing his forehead in frustration. (Damn it...)

He sent a message to Sakura's phone:

(You're not bad.)

Sakura, who happened to be holding her phone, felt the message was like a slap in the face! She stared at Sasuke with a cold glare, surprising him.

Sakura was confident in her appearance; people often praised her beauty.

Sakura: (So, what's this guy's problem? Are you blind?)

She was furious. If Sasuke wanted to be silly, it would've been better if he hadn't sent any message at all. A simple angry emoji would've expressed himself better.

Sasuke: "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Sakura: "Your face is so ugly."

Sasuke (shocked): "You said I'm ugly?"

Sakura (scoffing): "Yes, you're ugly."

The next message Sasuke planned to send was:

(Just kidding, you're really beautiful.)

But he deleted it, still upset by Sakura's words. From that point on, they kept their distance.

Sasuke and Sakura never went on fake dates, preferring to spend time alone. Now, Sakura vented her frustration to Ino, who burst into laughter.

Ino: "Haha, calm down, Sakura!"

Sakura didn't care about staying calm anymore; she wanted to show that she was angry. When Itachi came to pick her up, her expression changed. Itachi was a kind person, unlike Sasuke, who was completely different from his older brother. Sakura was truly confused how two brothers could be so different.

Itachi: "Why are you two fighting?"

Sakura: "We're not fighting, Itachi."

Itachi: "Really? I thought you were. Sasuke looked really upset because you were ignoring him."

Sakura felt embarrassed and couldn't come up with an excuse.

Sakura: "Well, maybe we'll be back to normal soon."

Itachi: "Good, I'm glad you can still get along. Sasuke can be a handful."

Not wanting to worry others, cause trouble, or prolong the cold war with Sasuke, Sakura chose to end it. The next morning, she looked for Sasuke. He smiled when Sakura was being kind. Sasuke felt like he had won, like he wasn't at fault, but he didn't know that Sakura would be far angrier if he ever did that again.

Just as Sakura was about to turn away, Sasuke spoke up:

Sasuke: "My approach was wrong..."

Sakura (turning around): "What?"

Sasuke: "I worded the message wrong. It was too short."

Sakura fell silent. She half-understood what Sasuke meant and replied with a nod:

Sakura: "Forget it. Just don't do it again."

Sasuke didn't like feeling like he was being treated like a naughty kid. That's how he felt hearing Sakura's tone.

He frowned, his pride hurt.

Sasuke: "I'm not a kid," he muttered, watching Sakura walk away.

Sakura (glancing back half-heartedly): "Then act like an adult."

Sasuke clenched his teeth but held himself back. As Sakura walked away, Sasuke grabbed his phone and typed:

(Sorry. I'll try to behave better.)

But before he sent it, he hesitated and deleted it. Still, seeing Sakura's back fading into the distance, Sasuke realized one thing:

(What's the harm in trying?)

He shut the door and leaned against it, sliding down to the floor in exhaustion. It was too hard for Sakura to hold on any longer—they just weren't compatible. Even during good times, Sakura still felt confused.

She tried calling Ino, but the call didn't go through. So Sakura got up and decided not to take a day off. Her mind was tired, but she got back up again—she didn't want a break from her responsibilities!
