Chapter 4 - CHAPTER (4)

CHAPTER (4)

Uchiha Itachi was surprised by these two kids. They were going to get married, but they didn't look affectionate at all, just staring at each other. Itachi smiled, trying to help his younger brother take the initiative, but unfortunately, Sasuke didn't respond much, choosing instead to remain indifferent to everything around him.

Itachi: "If you keep this up, your marriage will last, at most, a month."

Sasuke: "Hah?" (Is he cursing me?)

His brother was known to be kind and calm — everyone felt comfortable when he spoke — but now he was cursing him? Sasuke sneered silently, and Itachi, annoyed, could read his lips.

Itachi: "Did you just call me a bastard?"

Sasuke: "What? What are you talking about?"

Itachi smacked the back of Sasuke's head and walked away, choosing to talk to Sakura, who was now with Uchiha Mikoto.

Uchiha Mikoto looked at her son walking toward her.

Mikoto: "Is Sasuke alright? He doesn't seem to like this meeting."

Itachi smiled. "Just leave him, Mom. That's just how Sasuke is, right?"

Mikoto sighed. "I'm worried about Sakura..."

Sakura turned her head, pretending not to hear, her mouth full of cake.

Sakura: "Mmmh~"

Nervous, Sakura tried to suppress the feeling by eating — only food could calm her. When she noticed her mother glaring at her, she nearly choked! Itachi handed her a drink. Sasuke, seeing that, stood up but sat back down again when Sakura smiled brightly at Itachi.

Sasuke: (Damn it...)

Sasuke pulled out his phone and sent a message: ║ ˙ 益 ˙ ║

Message from Sasuke: (Do you like my brother? Smiling like an idiot.)

Sakura read it, shocked, and stared at Sasuke, walking toward him with no one realizing she was mad. She sat across from him, just staring without changing her expression.

Sasuke flinched when she kicked his leg under the table, and without warning, she proudly showed him the middle finger.

Sakura: "You're funny!"

Sasuke's lips curled into a smile.

Sakura: (-_-)

Sasuke: (•_•)

Everyone thought Sasuke looked extremely handsome and stylish right now, but to Sakura, he was just good on the outside — his personality was truly surprising. Back in high school, Sakura also thought Sasuke was perfect, so much so that she didn't dare say anything wrong.

The quiet Sasuke from before... now made Sakura feel kind of sick just thinking about the reality.

Sasuke looked down. Sakura thought she might've gone too far. Actually, Sasuke was just avoiding staring at her face for too long.

Sasuke: (She's not ugly...)

Sakura: (Is he sad? Is he sad? Oh no, how could that be!)

Itachi: "You two are always like this. Don't you get tired of it?"

Itachi approached and asked right away. Sakura couldn't answer — she only shook her head.

Itachi smiled while looking at Sasuke, though he clearly didn't like his presence. He understood, though, since he knew a bit about what Sasuke was really like. Outwardly indifferent, but deep down, a good kid.

Itachi: "If you're tired of talking to Sasuke, we can talk about plenty of things. If you keep holding yourself back and playing nice, Sasuke will stay like that. Look at his face — I can't tell if he wants to live or has given up. He doesn't care about anything... poor kid..."

Sasuke: "Weirdo..."

Itachi tried to be patient, resisting the urge to smack his stubborn little brother on the head again, while Sakura quietly watched the two brothers bicker.
