Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

After sliding into the car, Dhurba removed his coat and carefully hung it on the hanger he had placed there himself. The umbrella, still dripping from the rain, rested beside him as he quickly turned on the heater. A soft warmth spread through the car, melting away the chill from the storm outside. 🚗💨

Without a word, he reached over and took her hand in his, his other hand still on the wheel.

Somika smiled to herself, a warmth spreading inside her. Wow, she thought. This was the kind of moment she had only dreamed about—simple, effortless, yet perfect. Just the two of them, his hand in hers, the quiet hum of the car, and the steady warmth between them. 💖

And just like that, their journey toward her graduation began. 🎓

First, they had to stop at the university to collect their gowns, take some pictures, and enjoy a little celebration. 🎉

As they made their way through the busy crowd, Somika tucked her sunglasses and his into her bag. But in all the excitement, she suddenly realized something. His sunglasses were missing. 😓

Her heart sank. She rummaged through her bag, checking every pocket, but they were nowhere to be found. How could I have lost them?

When she nervously told Dhurba, he just smiled and shrugged. "It's alright," he said gently. "It doesn't cost much."

But Somika knew better. Those sunglasses weren't just any pair—he had bought them on a special trip to Spain. She expected him to be upset, even just a little. But instead, he reassured her, showing no frustration, no disappointment just understanding.

It was a small thing, yet it meant so much. In that moment, she realized it's not about the things people lose, but about how they make you feel. And Dhurba? He made her feel safe. 😊

They continued celebrating, capturing memories through pictures. Eventually, they arrived at a professional photoshoot near the university. 📸 It was a big moment, and Somika couldn't resist. She wanted these photos to be a keepsake, something she could look at for years to come.

They took both solo and couple shots. She could already picture where she'd place them at home—a reminder of this special milestone. ✨

But when it came time to print and frame them, Dhurba hesitated. "Let's just frame the solo one for now," he suggested. "We can print the other when we really need it."

Somika paused. She wanted both, but she also understood his practical approach. After a moment, she smiled and nodded. "Okay, just one for now." They could always frame the other one later.

Finally, it was time to head to the ceremony at St. Cathedral Church ⛪.

As they walked to the car, they overheard some students talking about how difficult it was to find parking near the church. Many were taking the university bus instead. But Dhurba and Somika didn't think much of it and decided to drive themselves.

As they sat in the car, ready to leave, Dhurba leaned in and kissed her. 💋
