Two days left until the full moon.
Life inside Verelen's palace had grown remarkably quieter after the chaos of that tea party. Odessa hadn't come to bother me again. Whether she had truly backed off or was plotting something even more vicious behind the curtains, I had no way of knowing.
Not that I had the luxury to dwell on it. From the moment I opened my eyes at dawn, I was whisked away to prepare for the upcoming wedding.
Measurements, dress fittings, fabric selections, floral arrangements, red carpet swatches, my schedule was so packed I barely had time to breathe, let alone think.
Each night, I collapsed into bed and slept like the dead, only to wake and repeat it all over again.
By today, most things were finished.
Only one task remained: the wedding portrait.
