The land, and air trembled with every movement he made. A burst of speed and swipe of the paw, Erebus was sent hurtling through the air, hitting speeds that tore his body apart… The ground didn't help him all that much, creating a trench extending miles out…
Once Erebus reformed, and attempted a counter attack, he found himself in the jaws of the mighty wolf. And just like a pup with a new bone, or toy to chew on… Shurry moved his head around in erratic fashion, causing as many internal injuries as possible. Until he released him up into the air, and fired off a beam of concentrated moonlight.
"FUCK!!!"
Erebus' screams of agony were like music to those who'd suffered due to his plans. He was pure evil, pure darkness. A powerful being to be sure… One who loved to lord over all with his immense strength, yet now…
"WHY IS THIS HAPPENING!" Erebus asked, confused beyond measure….
Shurry killed him several more times before Erebus could even utter his confusion again.
"How is this possible? I AM A GOD!"
Shurry glared, the snout wrinkled with the wolven hunt… Eyes, filled with rage… He snarled, bearing his fangs, drenched with Erebus' blood…
"I am… FENRIR REBORN! I AM SHURRY THE MOON PUP, AND THE ORIGIN WOLF!"
Erebus, finally got a hint to the reason why he was so terribly outmatched. I had a feeling… But I just can't believe it…
"WHAT INSANE BASTARD FREED YOU!?"
Erebus was smacked in the face with a ray of immensely powerful sunlight.
"RA!? THE FUCK!"
"Turns out, gods wiser than, you are insane."
Shurry continued the brutality, this time it was getting easier and easier to kill Erebus, each and every time.
…
Idunn was jumping up and down, holding the stuffed wolf in her arms.
"YES!! He's alive! Baldr, our baby boy's alive! He's really alive!"
"I know, it's wonderful news." Baldr's reaction was priceless, he was attempting to be stoic, but he was beyond relieved. "Thank you for coming back, my son…"
"Maybe we should turn the school district around? The city is going to need a great deal of assistance to recover from this…" Bragi suggested.
"No, we'll continue our current path. Our little Shurry will be fine over there. He was always such a cheerful little boy, and now… He's an honorable young man. I'm sure he'll understand if we don't bring the whole district back to see him."
"Baldr, I want to see him. I want to hold him in my bosom again…"
"I knew you'd say something like that. So, we'll send a group there with you as their patron. Now… Who to send…"
…
Leon, Malik, and a handful of the other teachers, as well as the stronger students, all training together in the larger court built into the floating ship.
Each of them were expressly refining one of their weaknesses. With great intensity. Not many would dare get close to this group. A training match that required the medical teams to be on standby the whole time… It was a maelstrom.
"It's been 2 days now. When do you think they'll stop this?"
"Probably when they're done. Unless there's something else that requires their attention."
"True but, when are we gonna have class again? Our teachers are either fighting it out over there, in that maelstrom, or are in a private meeting of the gods."
"About that, I was walking by that room earlier, and I swear I heard Professor Lady Idunn crying her eyes out." An young golden haired elf said, older her staff, nervously reporting what she heard.
"Nah, that's not possible. She hasn't ever cried before." A statement made by a newer member who had no idea about the past.
"No, it's possible… I heard that she cried for days on end when leaving her son in Orario." A half-elf said, clicking her glasses.
"Oh? You think it has something to do with that awfully loud sound from earlier?"
"Yeah, you think Cole will know something about it?"
As they spoke of him, he came running over.
"Hey, you said my name?"
"Yeah, what's up with that howl from earlier? It was so loud, and then you howled too. What was that all about?"
"Uhm… I'm not sure I can put it into words, uh… Oh, the alpha is fighting a powerful enemy! No, that's not exactly right either?"
Baldr & Idunn, then Bragi & Var appeared on the balcony overlooking the maelstrom below.
"They're impressive, coming this far with just a few extra days to properly test themselves."
"It helps that Leon, and Malik have both been down deep in the dungeon. Having a warrior's perspective of what's going on down there is great. But now that there's a mage with a similar experience, more improvement can be made."
"So, who are you going to choose?"
"I think I'll wait until they stop fighting…"
That was a bad idea, as in the presence of their gods, this training fight had a whole new meaning behind it, for most of them. And it wasn't until Leon, and Malik both got a little tired of waiting for the others to realize that it was time to stop when they just stopped the fight in a single burst. Each demonstrating the ridiculous might behind that of a level 7, and level 8. Baldr gave a slight chuckle seeing the response.
"Lord Baldr! Why are Lady Idunn's eyes coated with tears?"
Leon asked, in a rather borderline demanding tone. There's only ever been one time she's cried bad enough I could see the after effects…
"I am going to Orario to see my baby boy, my Shurry. And I need a strong guard, with a solid party. This will be a learning experience, as well as a sacred mission… An expedition." Idunn declared.
Leon, sensed something hidden behind those words.
"What happened? There's no way he could possibly have been killed, right? Even 30 of me would have a hard time doing that, if it even was possible."
"Evilus' leader, Erebus, led a massive force of mortals, monsters, and gods to attack the city of Orario. The city is in shambles, however, those responsible have been, or are currently receiving punishment."
Baldr showed a giant mirror for all to see, making sure that any truly terrible sights were cut out for those who shouldn't see them.
It showed a god, one clearly possessing an evil expression, as if it oozed from his everything.
And the wolf that challenged him, the sight of which sent a chill down many spines. But to Cole, it was like the warmest sensation he'd ever experienced, minus a mother's bosom…
"So, who wants to go see him?"
"I'm going! I will safely guide Lady Idunn to see my nephew!" Leon declared, and then glared at the others, as if daring them to try him.
"As much as we'd love to go, we have classes to teach…"
"Alright then… Leon, you'll need to take a team with you, it'll be safer that way."
"I can see them right now."
"Good, you'll leave as soon as everyone's ready."
