While Shurry continued his one sided slaughter of Erebus, gods started to recover from the initial shock of hearing that name, one that brought fear to the realm of the gods, Fenrir.
"This… It's impressive. He looks exactly like Fenrir."
"Fights the same way too."
"Really? How's that?"
Several gods glanced at each other, nodded, and said the same thing…
""""Brutal.""""
Several gods nervously chuckled, before breaking out into laughter.
"Kick his ass, Fenrir!"
"Yeah, give Erebus a lesson he'll never forget."
"Silly, gods don't forget."
"You know what I mean."
"Pfft, of course I do."
Ardee, having been comforted through the moment where she'd thought she didn't just lose her baby, but also her man… She smiled…
"Thank you, Mother Hathor. I don't know what I would have done…"
"It's fine, just make sure you don't worry too much. You heard it yourself."
"Yeah, I heard all of it, all of his feelings. I-"
"You still love him-" Hathor was about state, however…
"No, I've learned there's more to my love than ever before. So I don't love him the same amount as before… I- I want to be his forever, never parting from him ever! I want him to be mine forever. I love him with everything that I am."
"Well then, be a good wife for him until the end of time, you can continue being one, by watching him avenge the child between you."
Hathor smiled, both her, and Ardee's eyes glued to a mirror, watching Shurry brutalize Erebus…
With 400,000 deaths rapidly approaching… Erebus had gone completely insane from the pain. Even for a god, death, while not permanent, still hurts like hell!
In Tenkai, gods may have fought, and died on occasion, but the gods would revive after a set time. So it wasn't too bad, it sucked, there was time in between each death, long enough to limit the perception of that pain.
Here in Gekai, there was no timer, Erebus was forced to resurrect immediately after death… The pain of dying, now over 400,000 times in quick succession will change anyone, even a god… The pain will cause them to go insane, not that Erebus wasn't already insane, but that was neither here, nor there… Point was, he'd been overloaded, and he still had far more to go.
"Hey, how many people actually died here in Orario?"
"He did say it was over 500,000."
"I know the number Ouranos said, but Fenrir doesn't seem to be slowing down."
In a collection a little removed from the main group of people, adults, and children alike cheered as the mighty wolf on screen devoured Erebus again. Some children were lucky enough to have a wolf shaped pillow to rest on, the fluffiness of the fur cheered them up and made them laugh.
…
A little ways away from the city, in a small town, a pair of twins, sat in their current familia's home watching the scene unfold on a mirror their current patron put up.
"Sister, this wolf, he's incredibly strong."
"Yeah he is, it's like a whole new hero story! The wolf who killed the demons and became a hero! Oh oh! I'm gonna write it!"
"I'd bet anything he's a wild beast in bed. I wonder if it's enough to satisfy me?"
"You mean us, right? Right?"
"Oh please, we're the same age, and your boobs haven't even started growing yet." Tiona said, proud flaunting the over sized breasts for her age.
"Hey… Tiona, Tione… This wolf, you know he's the reborn Fenrir, right?" Their flabbergasted deity asked, curious about their response.
"So? Right now, he's a hero! Ah! MY HERO!" Tiona said with a giddy giggle. "Oh how should I write that moment, Hmm? Oh I got it!: "Oh my hero, you're so brave and strong, let me bare your children!" Yeah! That's the stuff!" She continued, and got lost in her own little world as she started scribbling things down on paper.
Tione was about to answer until…
"Hey, Tiona, is the way he is fighting, feel a little familiar to you as well?" She asked, tilting her air-brained head to the side… All development going to her breasts which had started coming in far more rapidly than a normal Amazoness her age. "It just feels familiar, I can't place it though."
"Oh that? That's how we fought in Telskyura-" Tiona said, stopping her scribbling when she realized a terrible thing… A truly terrible, horrible thing. "Goddess, can you zoom in on Fenrir's right ear?"
"You want me to do something like that? It's hard enough keeping track of the fight as it is. Would a still frame be fine?"
"Yes, that would be better…"
It was a few seconds before a good shot of it came on the mirror. Tiona dropped her pen, and her jaw…
Tione fell to her knees, and started hyperventilating, holding her head as she panicked, muttering inconceivable words, in the Telskyurian tongue. This happened until she passed out on the floor, sending a degree of worry through their goddess.
"Tione? Tione!?" The goddess shouted. "You two, take her to bed, and watch over her." She'd pointed out two of the other girls in her familia. "Tiona, what's wrong? What happened? It's something about that earring isn't it?"
Tiona didn't respond, the goddess, caring, yet firm, reluctantly tapped Tiona's cheek with a slight bit more force than a touch, but less than a slap.
"Huh?" Tiona seemingly snapped out of her daze, looking around for the picture.
"What is going on? Tell me clearly."
Tiona gulped.
"I can't… It's the inner workings of Telskyura, I'd be hunted down if I told you."
"You're smart enough to know that I won't accept such an answer, I won't tell others, so just tell me… What is wrong with that earring?"
"It… It's a promise. It happens on occasion, but it's a commitment to ensure that a certain boy is saved for a certain Amazoness. It's a sacred pact… And because of how it works, there, if the promised Amazoness dies in the death arena, the Amazoness who killed her, inherits the promise, and must wear the matching earring until they've had offspring."
"I see… In Telskyura, it wouldn't be too difficult to deal with this situation, but because it's him, Tione needs to have his child before she has anyone else's."
"That's not everything either… The one he'd been promised to, was his adoptive mother's daughter… In other words, his little sister, Seldas."
The goddess was speechless.
"Such a cruel fate you children must face… This scene is playing out in part because Erebus ordered the death of his unborn child."
"I know that, I'm sure my sister does too."
"Tell you what… I'll let the two of you go to Orario together with someone… They'll arrive in town soon, and once they do, you'll have safe passage to the city. Help them rebuild, and maybe you can explain the situation…"
"I'm going to write this story, even if it's short, I want to write it!" Tiona said, ignoring the suggestion for the time being. I want to leave some kind of mark on the world in case I die.
"You do that, I hope everything will work out."
