Axel stirred awake with a soft yawn, blinking a few times before turning to his side. The bed beside him was empty. Jayvaughn had already left. Axel frowned slightly, disappointed. He had wanted to wake up earlier and help Jayvaughn get ready for work, maybe fix his tie or kiss him goodbye at the door. But clearly, that opportunity had slipped by. He sighed and rubbed his eyes. It was barely seven in the morning. He figured Jayvaughn must have left early because they were staying at his parents' house, which was quite far from the Draxler Corporation.
After a moment of lying still, Axel finally got out of bed and made his way to the bathroom for a quick shower. The warm water helped shake off the lingering sleep, and soon he felt more refreshed. Once he dried off and dressed in something casual, he stepped out of his room and walked down the hallway toward Jaimie's room.
