Chapter 21 - Chapter 18 Resurrection Ritual

Mohe instructed the two to collect the following materials:

Perfume with the scent of sunflowers.

"Your Goddess loves sunflowers, which are considered the first flower to grow on the ground, a symbol of the sun, warmth, and life. Placing this in the ritual can please your Goddess, that's the first step," Mohe explained to the two.

Lisidorwei and Doro exchanged glances, understanding each other's thoughts.

"She actually intends to teach us!"

It's not that Doro and Lisidorwei are not trying, but Lisidorwei, as a type of life form, was not designed by Mohe with alchemy skills in mind. And as for Doro... he's never been skilled in this area; he trusts his sword.

"Once you please the Goddess, she may turn a blind eye to certain things, things akin to the flow of life... If it were in my prime, I could directly snatch someone from her hands, but as things stand, I'd have to appease her." Mohe lamented his own weakness. "The second step involves a spirit lamp made with elf tears and dwarf wine. After lighting it, you'll be met with an unexpected scent—the tears of the Elf Race contain the will of the elf race, just as the dwarf wine does."

She didn't seem to care whether the two understood, just continued her lecture: "In the resurrection, saving a person, that's the way it has to be. Simply put, human, elf, dwarf... leaving my Demon Race aside, are the three great races in the world. If you want to resurrect and save a human, you have to use the things of the elves and dwarves to blind her perception. If resurrecting an elf, use human and dwarf items, and the same goes for resurrecting a dwarf. Of course, for a more perfect result, collecting some items from smaller races for assistance would be better, but the more targets there are, the more problems may arise in subsequent steps. So don't be too greedy."

She picked up the third item: "A carving knife. This carving knife is a standard item from the church, carrying a hint of divine power… calling it power is a bit funny, but it indeed has the effect of exorcism. Use this carving knife to delineate the range of the ritual, letting the Divine Grace extend further into the range we need for the ritual."

She spoke while holding the carving knife that was growing warm in her left hand and drew a circle on the ground: "The shape actually doesn't matter, a circle is better, but if you like, triangles and squares are okay too, as long as it's a closed shape."

Saying that, the carving knife in her hand shattered.

"My left hand conflicts with the carving knife, thus forcing all the power inside the knife out. You don't need to learn this, as your power doesn't have this property."

She patted her own hand: "At this step, the most basic steps are already completed. Of course, in fact, these don't hold much significance."

Doro: "?"

"If anyone thinks this way could resurrect someone, my evaluation would be that they are dreaming. The probability is less than one in a hundred thousand, and it might invite the malice of the gods."

Mohe's pride was unmistakable on her face: "So this is a wrong demonstration, but the effect I want is precisely the wrong one."

Neither Doro nor Lisidorwei commented; after all, in this field, whatever the Demon King says goes, who could rebut?

This Demon King's exploration in the field of life was truly profound. Resurrecting someone? She could create a species like Lisidorwei.

"That's why I asked you to bring Black Ram's blood." Mohe said with a cheerful smile, "You both know, in my demon army, there's the Black Ram brigade, and my magical Black Ram descent... I set this creature as a symbol of life's proliferation, a thing capable of providing the source of life."

She picked up the bottle beside her: "Add some black cat's blood, folklore says cats have nine lives. And a bit of Sub-dragon species' scales... I'm really disappointed in you both, shouldn't you have gone and gotten a dragon's scales?"

Doro just had to explain: "Initially, we did want to get dragon scales, but dragons left the continent long ago after your defeat. You'd have to search the endless seas."

"... Is that so... Those creatures, though large in stature, are unexpectedly intelligent, knowing they would be reared by humans into material-producing machines."

Mohe didn't seem surprised: "In any case, with these things, don't say Frodonick hasn't truly died because of my undying power; even if he did die, within a day, I could bring him back. This is the greatness of the Demon King, a fact you both should realize."

No one understood the nature of the Demon King better than these two standing before him, considering Doro once made it his mission to defeat the Demon King, and Lisidorwei harbors the utmost reverence for the Demon King.

"When that first ritual fails, divine malice will descend, and you two will help me 'capture' this divine malice, which I will then integrate into Frodonick's body."

Doro frowned: "What will happen?"

"He will become stronger... I know you wouldn't believe me when I put it simply, he will become part of the Demon Race."

"What!"

Doro's expression changed immediately; he wanted to question Mohe, but saw Mohe nonchalantly spread her hands.

The smile on the young woman's face was unsettling: "If you want to save him, save him. If you reject this plan to save someone, then go find your past Miss Charlette; I remember you two had some relationship, didn't you? She can save people too. It's up to you, Hero. If you want me to save him, I will turn him into a Demon Race. I need the combat power. Although he is not strong enough, if you are willing to loyally serve me, I can let him maintain his human form. It's your choice."

Truth be told, Doro found it unexpectedly easy to get along with the Demon King Mohe.

As for the reason... no matter what she does, you can always assume she has no good intentions. It's a matter of reversed assurance, you don't need to worry she might hold goodwill towards you, she surely has other motives. The better she treats you, the more you should stay away from her.

Just like this, she was blatantly coercing him, yet he had no means to counter.

"Rest assured, I won't manipulate his will, just as I won't manipulate Lisidorwei's will either. I'm not interested in forcibly controlling others. That's not the essence of dominion. It lacks artistic value; what I seek is a different dominion."

"Do you want him resurrected?"

Doro gritted his teeth: "Then let's do it!"

Mohe came to Doro's side and extended her left hand, placing it flat in front of Doro.

A drop of golden blood inside Doro was driven to Mohe's palm, and he then cut his own palm with a sword.

The golden blood fled Doro's body immediately, then...

Was held by Mohe.

"Oh~ Hero, quite impressive, the blood within you, used to nourish me... it's full of vitality!"

She suddenly flung her hand, and the blood splattered onto Frodonick at the center of the circle.

The young woman clapped her hands together: "Oh God! I pray for your light to shine upon this world! The glory of the sun and moon is about to lead to eternity! Your faithful believer, at this moment, prays to you!"
