Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Wedding Night, Three Terms (Part 3)

Sheng Jianan would not defy his own grandfather's decision. If he was told to marry, he would marry. As for what happens afterward, that would be his business.

He's done such things as pretending to obey and secretly defying many times before.

As for that divorce agreement just now, if that woman signed it, he wouldn't append his own name so quickly either, just like Tang Yanqi said, it's impossible for them to divorce now.

Grandfather was diagnosed with liver cancer, and the doctors have given the final ultimatum—the most optimistic scenario is only about a year. Birth, aging, illness, and death are natural laws that no one can avoid. As a grandson, all he can do is let the old man happily walk through the last passage of life.

Lying straight on the bed, Sheng Jianan closed his eyes. He didn't want to get married; for one, he's disgusted with this purpose-driven commercial marriage, and secondly, he's still young. He wants to marry the woman he loves, not just any woman grabbed from somewhere.

With the help of red wine, before long, Sheng Jianan was breathing evenly.

In another room, Tang Yanqi didn't know how long she had been buried in the wedding dress before she slowly crawled up. The wedding dress is very luxurious; just the diamonds on it would be enough for an ordinary family to live comfortably for several generations.

But wearing it, Tang Yanqi only felt it was heavy and burdensome.

Taking off the wedding dress, Tang Yanqi just remembered that she didn't have a change of clothes. Her clothes were all in the alcove connected to the master bedroom.

There's no way to go back and get them now.

After showering and emerging from the bathroom, she didn't even have the energy to blow dry her hair, and Tang Yanqi lay stark naked on this strange big bed.

This is her wedding night, what a strange wedding night.

Tang Yanqi thought she would have insomnia, but perhaps because the wedding was so rowdy the whole day, she was really tired. Despite usually not sleeping well in unfamiliar beds, she miraculously fell asleep.

Upon waking again, it was already bright outside. The headache from sleeping without drying her hair made Tang Yanqi instinctively furrow her brows. Straining to get up, seeing her stark naked body and the unfamiliar place, Tang Yan Di's mind went blank for a moment. After two seconds, she remembered that yesterday was her wedding night.

A wedding night rejected with a divorce agreement by her husband and spending the night apart from her husband—such a dramatic event actually happened to her.

Tang Yanqi pulled back the corners of her mouth silently, lifted the blanket, and got out of bed. She needed to go to the master bedroom to get clothes, but couldn't go stark naked. Her gaze swept the room, and Tang Yanqi could only put on the wedding dress she had taken off yesterday again.

Opening the door and walking to the master bedroom entrance, the white door had a bright red "Xi" character on it. It's tacky, but festive. But in Tang Yanqi's eyes, it seemed ironically ridiculous. She reached out and knocked on the door—there was no response. She grabbed the doorknob, twisted it, and went inside.

The big bed was a bit messy, but its owner was not present. Tang Yanqi quickly walked to the alcove, opening the door only to see Sheng Jianan standing in front of the mirror, calmly fastening his tie. Upon seeing her arrive, a look of disgust appeared in the man's eyes, followed by a cold, sarcastic tone: "Hm, so fond of this wedding dress, you can't bear to take it off?"

Tang Yanqi's face was steady, but her heart was pierced sharply for a moment. However, after all these years, hasn't she grown accustomed to it?

Confronting Sheng Jianan's cold tone with neither humility nor arrogance: "Young Master Sheng, I think you misunderstood. I merely have no clothes to change into and came to fetch them. I didn't know you were inside. Please, I'll come back later."
