Chapter 117 - Chapter 116: Sharingan Evolving Again

"Oh, you will have plenty of time for me after I am done with you."

Amora's eyes glowed bright blue as she said that, the colour of the Mind Stone itself.

Kakashi felt the change instantly. Her magical energy was no longer just simple magic. It was deeper, sharper, and far more dangerous. The power from the mind stone had somehow fused or rather enhanced her own magic. She was stronger than she had previously been.

'And considering she uses mind magic, I might be in trouble. I won't be able to phase through such magic.'

Before Kakashi could finish the thought, a cold spike drove into his mind. It was not a gentle probe. It was a hammer.

Amora's magic, boosted by the Mind Stone, tore through every mental wall he had built over the years. The barriers he had built against Yamanaka clan techniques or similar interrogation techniques as an Anbu crumbled like paper. Pain exploded behind his eyes. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth and dripped onto the floor.

He tried to raise his Mangekyō Sharingan to fight back, but the Sharingan only countered genjutsu. This was raw mind magic mixed with cosmic power. His usual tricks did not work.

Kakashi forced himself to stay calm. He rebuilt the walls as fast as they broke. Each new shield bought him a second, then half a second. The pain was blinding, but he refused to fall.

Then something strange happened.

The Mind Stone energy pouring into his brain began to react with his Sharingan. The black pattern in his eye started to spin faster and faster.

A burning sensation spread through his eyes, but it was different from the usual Mangekyō strain. This felt like growth, like evolution.

'My Sharingan. It's evolving again? But how? This is definitely not some shinto's god essence that the Sharingan is absorbing. It's more like it's substituting it for this energy.'

Kakashi understood in a flash of pain. His Sharingan was absorbing the Mind Stone energy the same way Obito's body had once absorbed Hashirama cells.

'It's like how obito used Lord First cells to substitute for another pair of Sharingan to use his Mangekyõ Sharingan as if it was an eternal mankeyou Sharingan without risking the possibility of going blind.'

It was not perfect, but it was enough. The cosmic power was replacing the divine essence his Mangekyõ needed to evolve once again.

He groaned and clutched his head. Blood dripped from both eyes now. His body shook. Then everything stopped. He went completely still.

Amora smiled with victory. She walked forward slowly, hips swaying. "Now you are mine," she whispered.

She leaned in and pressed her lips against his.

The moment her lips touched, Kakashi's mouth turned into the jaws of a massive crocodile. Sharp teeth snapped shut on her face. Amora screamed and stumbled back, hands covering her bleeding mouth.

The luxurious room around her melted away like paint in water.

Suddenly she was outside, tied tightly to an old tree in a dark forest. The sky above was blood red. Five Kakashis stood in a circle around her, each one holding a kunai. Their eyes spun with the Mangekyō.

"Welcome to the World of Tsukuyomi," Kakashi said, voice calm and cold.

Amora's eyes widened in terror.

The first Kakashi stepped forward and drove his kunai into her stomach. She screamed. The blade twisted slowly. Pain exploded through her body.

"You tried to take my mind," he said quietly. "Now feel what happens when someone plays with the wrong person."

The second Kakashi stabbed her shoulder. Blood poured down her dress. The third stabbed her thigh. Each wound burned like fire. She begged, voice breaking.

"Please! Stop! I will leave! I swear!"

The fourth Kakashi grabbed her hair and pulled her head back. "You kissed me," he said. "That was a mistake."

The fifth Kakashi stabbed her through the hand, pinning it to the tree. She screamed until her voice cracked.

Time lost all meaning. One second in the real world became hours for her. The Kakashis took turns stabbing, cutting, breaking bones. Every wound healed just enough for the pain to start again. She cried. She begged. She promised anything. She offered gold, power, her own life. Nothing stopped the blades. She could not pass out because the illusion did not let her.

After what felt like days of endless torture, her mind finally gave out. She died both inside the illusion as well as outside

In the real world, only three seconds had passed.

Kakashi opened his eyes. The new pattern in his Mangekyō slowly stopped spinning. Blood still dripped from his left eye, but the pain was gone. He wiped his mouth and stood straight.

He had just used the jutsu that was once used by Itachi to send him to the hospital unconscious.

Amora collapsed to the floor.

Kakashi looked around. Loki was gone. The trickster had slipped away while Amora kept him busy.

He walked to the broken window and looked up at the night sky.

A massive blue portal had opened above the city. Strange, screaming alien creatures poured out on flying chariots. Buildings shook from the first wave of attacks.

The Chitauri army had arrived.

Kakashi's Sharingan reflected the burning light of the invasion.

"The Chitauri army is here," he mumbled.
