I thought I would die if I didn't drag in a breath the next second, or if I didn't let out a scream. My mind was racing in a frenzy, and I could hear the bones in my body breaking into a thousand pieces.
"Please," Mira pleaded in a teary and panic-stricken voice as the footsteps sounded nearer.
"She's still very sick from the last time. Please, I beg you." She added but of course they wouldn't listen as they continued to approach me.
I felt strong hands pull roughly at my shoulders, and in the next instant, I was dragged from the bed to the floor with a heavy thud.
I should worry about my bones which might have broken from the fall, or my skin which must have been bruised. But I wasn't worried about myself. My worry was about the key which was somewhere between my chest and my stomach with nothing to keep it from slipping out except for the loose and tattered dress I was wearing.
