Chapter 6 - What Kind of Monster Are We Dealing With?

I didn't know what to think. I didn't seem safe partying with these wild kids at the mansion any longer. I wanted to make sure everyone would have a good time. I didn't think we'd be facing some kind of monster with a gifted power to keep us from having anymore fun at night.

I wasn't about to the let the ghost creature hurt me or any of my friends in the attic mansion room. It twirled around in a puff of smoke. And went crashing through the attic room window.

We gasped and all turned out to look out the window. We saw through the glow of bright full moon light, from the window. As the creature's shadow disappeared into the streets of the night.

I didn't like what was going on. I don't think my friends were in the mood to party anymore. I could see the anxiety on their faces, were getting spooked and wanted to be safe in their own beds in their own houses in Supernaturalville, tonight.

"What if it comes back?" I heard, Greg suddenly ask nervously. I didn't like to think that'd be the last time we'd see the monster again. I grabbed hold of a wooden rocking chair by the wall next to the DJ station table. I shoved the end of the chair in the doorknob to keep from anything else coming after us.

The lights flickered on and off in the attic room, but didn't go off. We stopped going wild and remained calm. Waiting for anything to happen. I don't think anybody here felt like partying anymore tonight.

Then, the DJ put the needle on the record turntable and turned up the volume to the loud music blaring from the speakers. "Party on, dudes!" he explained, pumping his fits in the air.

The kids paused for a moment. When nothing else was going on, they cheered and jumped up and down. Getting down with the loud pop music blaring from the speakers.

I didn't feel like joining the kids. Neither did my two best friends, Greg and Yoyo. We turned to look out the broken glass window in the attic. Looking out, we saw the ghostly creature in a purple robe, holding a black leather book in his hands.

We watched as the ghost monster pulled the hood from his jacket over his bony, bloody skeleton head. His eyes glowed red as he turned the page of the spellbook in his hand to the middle of the book.

Then, a swirl of fog circled around him. Making him float in the air. It didn't make sense. What was he going to do to us if we don't get out of the Alive at Midnight Mansion to keep from partying all night long?

"I don't think we're safe for much longer," I whispered, turning to look at my two best friends. They turned and looked at me, nodding. The music was so loud. Making the party animals even more louder.

"Just ignore the monster," Greg told us. "Maybe it will get bored and leave us alone," he said. I hope Greg was right. I don't know what to believe was happening to us was real.

I nodded and turned away from the window. I started pacing back and forth in front of a group of wild teenagers, were jamming out to the loud rock music coming from the DJ. Like nothing was wrong.

I cautiously went back to the attic window and looked out again in the darkness. A glow of bright blue moonlight shown a path of light on the ghost creature who was still floating above the ground. While reading from the prayer spell book in his bony hands.

"I'm not going to let the monster make it worse for us," I whispered out loud, mostly to myself. "We came to have fun with our friends," I continued. "We're not going to let some supernatural creature take over our fun, private lives," I said.

I angrily closed the blue curtains at the broken window in the attic. I walked over to the snack bar next to the DJ table. Grabbed an empty plastic cup. Filled it with punch in the cup and took a long thirst quenching drink from the cup.

Feeling pumped and excited, I grabbed hold of my friends by their hands. And danced with victory and joy and excitement. The loud rock music the DJ had going, was really getting my going. I didn't want the magical party night to end.

I knew there was nothing to worry about. There are no such things as ghosts and haunted houses. Just getting worried about nothing real happening to us.

I wanted my friends and I to have fun every weekend. The more we partied the more energy and it would give us. We would never have to worry about anybody else keeping us from having a good time.

I loved hanging out with my friends. I felt comfortable being around them. They always knew how to make you feel. I wasn't going to let anything come between us.

If my friends ever got changed for the worst, I would never be the same. I would get so lonely without my friends to be around with. They always made me feel good.

I couldn't be afraid of something not real. I would have to fight to stay alive and be a real person. There are no such things as spooky old ghosts. Who want nothing more to do than make you miserable.

As we continued to party, I knew nothing was going to ruin our night of fun. But I knew it wasn't going to last forever. When the sun comes up in the morning, I knew we'd all have to go to our own separate homes in Supernaturalville, where we'd belong.

I just wanted to enjoy the moment of hanging out with my friends and the kids who lived in Supernaturalville to have a good time. This was our moment to make something to make our lives a difference as the days go on.

But I had a feeling the ghost monster was still watching us from the front yard in the Alive at Midnight Mansion. I motioned for my two friends I'd be right back.

I walked over to the broken window, and looked out the closed draped curtain of the window by the wall. And looked out... The creature had vanished...

Then, suddenly a green, warty clawed hand reached up over the broken window. It grabbed hold of me by the neck. And I screamed loudly as the bloody skeleton creature took my body out of the attic room window. And dragged me away, screaming the whole way down...
