"God's guidance, huh? That sounds a little ridiculous to say in front of a devil."
Arthas touched his nose, thinking this. Looking at the rosary around her neck, he felt a strong repulsive force.
Perhaps their meeting was a mistake. As a devil, Arthas shouldn't have met or spoken to the girl.
But now that they had met, and Arthas had discovered the divine artifact within her, he couldn't ignore her.
He had to find a way to get her to Kuoh Academy…
Fortunately, Souna had used all her pieces; otherwise, he would have agonized over who would become her master.
After exchanging names, Arthas took the somewhat airheaded nun towards the church.
Unsure if Frostmourne would harm her, Arthas kept his distance. The nun, however, pursed her lips, seeming eager to hold Arthas's hand.
"That curse…"
As they left the town and entered the suburbs, Asia finally spoke.
"Hmm?"
Arthas paused, and Asia continued.
"Um… let me try. Maybe I can lift your curse."
Asia said, and before Arthas could react, she took his hand.
"Whoa!"
Arthas was startled. The moment their hands touched, a chilling wave of cold spread from their point of contact.
Frostmourne was more unruly than Arthas had imagined, attacking without considering the intentions of the person touching it.
Just as Arthas worried about the girl being harmed, a soft, pale green light emanated from Asia's palm.
It was a sacred light that wouldn't burn; even Arthas found himself captivated by it.
Was this her divine artifact's power? It seemed to have a healing effect—a truly reassuring power.
Arthas thought this, and under this power, the restless Frostmourne calmed down, and the chilling frost disappeared.
"It… seems to have worked."
Although he'd been briefly frozen, Arthas's power subsided quickly. Asia smiled brightly, looking up at Arthas.
"Ah, it did work. Thank you."
Smiling gently, Arthas patted the girl's head. She tilted her head, offering a shy smile.
"Um… it's wonderful to be able to help you, Arthas-san."
"But this power is…?"
Feigning incomprehension, Arthas asked. Asia explained gently.
"It's healing power. I didn't expect it to be so effective against curses. It's a beautiful gift from God."
She was still smiling, but a hint of sadness lingered in her expression.
This power didn't seem to have brought much joy to her life.
The conversation ended, and they continued towards the church.
A few minutes from the park, an old church stood.
It was getting late, but the building was lit up, suggesting someone lived there.
A strange sense of repulsion emanated from the church. As a devil, and since churches were associated with gods and angels, it was undoubtedly enemy territory to Arthas.
Souna and Rias had warned Arthas not to approach shrines or churches, but it wasn't as extreme as they'd described. He felt a sense of discomfort and repulsion, but not to the point of weakness.
It was simply unpleasant and distasteful.
"Ah, this is it! Thank goodness."
Comparing the location to the map, the nun breathed a sigh of relief.
"Well, I'll leave you here."
This wasn't a place to linger. It was getting dark, and he should leave before Souna worried.
With that thought, Arthas bid farewell to the nun.
"Ah… thank you so much, Arthas-san."
"It was nothing."
"Um, I hope we can meet again."
Asia bowed deeply, and Arthas waved goodbye. She stood there, watching him leave until he was out of sight.
After Arthas left, Asia took a deep breath, turned, and looked at the old church before entering.
She didn't seem eager to go inside.
The reason remained unknown.
The next day, when Arthas told Rias about Asia, he was scolded.
"Finding familiars with divine artifacts is good, but absolutely do not get involved with anyone from the church. She's a nun, and she possesses a divine artifact. Even within the angel faction, she's likely closely watched, making it practically impossible to recruit her."
Rias said seriously, her expression more serious than usual. Rias usually came across as carefree and playful; this was the first time Arthas saw her so serious.
Only then did she truly give the impression of Lucifer's sister, worthy of the fearsome title of "Crimson-Haired Annihilation Princess."
After warning Arthas, Rias's demeanor changed drastically. She looked curious, leaning over the table and asking Arthas,
"So… did you tell Souna about this?"
"No… I found Asia while I was the president's familiar, and Souna's familiars are already complete."
"Mmm… excellent! I'm glad I didn't spoil you!"
Pleased with Arthas's answer, Rias jumped from behind the table and hugged him.
"You've shown initiative in finding familiars, and I'm happy about that. But for safety reasons, let's avoid contact with that nun for now. You can continue searching for familiars, but a conflict between factions would be counterproductive."
Rias said, and Arthas nodded. But somehow, he kept seeing the girl's melancholic smile in his mind.
She needs help… she needs me…
