Rias's outburst seemed unreasonable, yet you had to admit every point she made was valid.
Meanwhile, Souna, on the defensive, argued with remarkable intelligence and composure, holding her own perfectly.
The only one suffering was Arthas. Watching the two girls argue, he rubbed his temples in frustration.
If this bickering continued, he'd be done for. He doubted he could endure it.
"What do you mean each of your three pieces was indispensable? It's as if my eight pieces were insignificant! Weren't my pieces also indispensable?"
"That's not what I meant. I just wanted to say that the value of my pieces and your pieces is roughly the same; after all, all eleven pieces were necessary."
"Don't change the subject! Even if they're of equal value, you still had five fewer pieces than me. Fewer is fewer!"
"Look… you…"
Arthas looked at the two girls, a mixture of amusement and exasperation on his face. He'd intended to calm them down, but was met with a glare.
Fine, fine. You two keep arguing; I'll just watch.
Shrugging, Arthas remained silent, watching the two girls' verbal sparring.
After a long while, realizing neither could convince the other, the pointless argument ended.
The two girls glared at each other before turning away, like children sulking.
Arthas chuckled, shaking his head. He walked between them and asked,
"So… have you decided? Which of you is my master?"
"Of course, it's me!"
Their simultaneous reply showed remarkable agreement. The two girls glared at each other again, then turned away in a huff.
"Alright, let's stick to the old rules. I get Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays; you get Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays!"
After a moment, Rias conceded, suggesting a compromise.
"Why do you get four days?!"
"Because I used eight devil pieces! Even four days is a loss for me!"
Rias said confidently, leaving Souna speechless.
No matter how she tried to argue, Rias's eight devil pieces had been crucial to Arthas's reincarnation—an undeniable fact.
"Fine, I understand. Let's do it that way."
Further arguing was pointless and would only amuse their new familiar. Souna nodded, agreeing to Rias's proposal.
"Hmph."
Rias nodded, a smug expression on her face.
Then, both girls approached Arthas and extended their hands.
Arthas paused, then offered a wry smile, taking both girls' hands.
Both Rias and Souna looked satisfied; the argument seemed to be over.
"So, where do you live? Do you have any family? Now that you're a devil, our familiar, we need to make some arrangements. Your ordinary life will change."
Rias said. Souna paused, realizing she'd seen him fall from the sky.
Why had he fallen from the sky? Had he been attacked by the fallen angels?
As Souna fell into thought, Rias continued,
"Right, we still don't know your name.
For a familiar to not tell their master's name is quite rude."
"Call me Arthas."
"Arthas? That doesn't sound Japanese."
Rias widened her eyes curiously, scrutinizing Arthas.
"How did you get here? Were you traveling alone?"
Looking at Rias, who was asking question after question like a curious child, Arthas offered a wry smile.
Since she'd already thought of a reason, he didn't need to bother creating one.
"Yes, I was traveling alone, and I have no family. Thanks to my parents, they left me a large inheritance. To avoid those bothersome relatives trying to get a piece of the pie, I had to wander alone."
Arthas shrugged. His pitiful backstory brought tears to Rias's eyes. She hugged him affectionately, saying,
"From now on, you're family. You can call me sister."
As Rias said this, Souna coughed disapprovingly.
"Of course, Souna too. From now on… we're family."
Rias said, her expression slightly unnatural.
For devils, reincarnated familiars were considered family.
But due to Arthas's unique situation, he was related to both her and Souna, meaning she and Souna were also family.
"This is so strange… like helplessly watching my brother marry a woman I dislike, yet unable to stop him."
Rias sighed helplessly.
This strange analogy made Souna twitch her mouth.
"What kind of weird analogy is that? Hmph… although Arthas is our shared familiar, don't expect me to help you with everything."
"Hey, hey, when have I ever asked for your help? This whole thing was solved thanks to me!"
Rias retorted, causing Souna to blush.
She quickly changed the subject.
"Right, Arthas, I found you falling from the sky. Were you attacked by the fallen angels?"
"Ah… I'm not sure. I was walking down the street, and then I suddenly lost consciousness."
Arthas paused, stammering slightly.
Souna nodded, starting her own analysis.
"It seems to be the work of the fallen angels. They probably attacked you, intending to kill you and take the divine artifact, and the artifact reacted to protect you, causing it to go berserk?"
