Chapter 1 - Prologue

A Luscious Land

That day marked the foundation of the kingdom. A kingdom found in the deep, green valleys surrounding the Acterina Mountain Range. The kingdom of Lardvalen, a hub for adventurers and nobles alike. A safe haven for the forces of evil out in that continent.

Those 'forces of evil' were commonly known as 'Sins' throughout the land, or as some call them, Monsters. These 'Sins' were categorised into 13 groups, each headed by one called a 'Great sinner', powerful figures whose hunger for power led them down a path that disgraces their own humanity. A Sin's category is decided by the main characteristic of their ability, usually falling under 10 of the categories.

The categories were as follows: Sins of Flame, Frost, Rot, Storm, Venom, Bone, Night, Day, Spite and the Sins of Love. The 3 least common categories being the Sins of Dark, Light and Sins of Dread.

These 3 least common types were rare, regarded as large threats and, as a baseline for their power, capable of laying waste to Large Towns or Cities. These types were not created naturally, and, in turn, require a Great Sinner of the category to be created.

That creature was one such Sin.

A Sin of Dread attacked Lardvalen, a wyvern large enough to block the sun from the sky, swooping in and decimating the lush jungle with its sinister breath, instilling fear on all inhabitants in the process. The city was wiped out; without a capital, or a royal family, the kingdom fell apart.

It was turned into an empty desert, a once desired resort reduced to one of the most inhospitable places on the map, characterised by its strong winds. The winds that earned it the name of 'The place of gale', or 'Gale' for short.

Gale became a warzone for Sins and Wanderers alike, becoming the homeland for monsters after years of neglect and abandonment.

However, groups of wanderers and adventurers commonly use 'Gale' as a place to hone their skills, converse and, in the end, return it to its former glory.
