Chapter 30 - Nytherion

Shiara flew toward him with incredible speed and tried to kick Raizel's head but at that moment, Raizel disappeared from there.

''What?'' Shiara said out of surprise.

''How could he dodge it?'' Shiara thought to himself.

Raizel appeared to be floating in the middle of the sky. His face and hands were filled with wounds, leaving a look like a half-dead demon. The amount of blood covered his face mostly.

Shiara flew toward him and sent a slash toward him from his left hand.

Raizel dodged it and instantly disappeared from there, appearing a bit away.

He drew a magic circle covering himself and within some moments, his entire body healed up.

Raizel drew a dark magic circle surrounded with crimson magic power.

The magic circle revealed a katana—a katana of dark-brown color brimming with crimson dark magic power around it.

The magic sword, Nytherion. The sword that was created out of a sacred spirit's desire, one of the oldest sacred spirits ever who was murdered by Raizel in the past. The sword contained power of emptiness which seemed quite similar to the sacred spirit's mental empty feelings and loneliness.

Every being of the 6th and 7th layer holds a magic type granted by their writer. A writer of the 6th or 7th layer grants their character magic type based on their mentality and personality.

Legends say, the sword is alone enough to turn a weak fool into a powerhouse. The sword is said to be capable of wiping out anything and everything from sight. The level of magic power is meaningless in front of the sword which allows just anyone to win a front battle.

''The sword of emptiness, Nytherion? I've heard of this sword before but… is this really enough to defeat me?'' Shiara thought to himself.

''It doesn't matter, I have to ignore the sword,'' Shiara added to his thoughts.

Shiara ran toward Raizel with incredible speed and was about to land a punch on Raizel's face but at that moment, Raizel swung his sword toward Shiara's head. As Shiara was prepared for the sword, he instantly dodged the sword and kicked Raizel from above.

Raizel slammed into the ground and was caught in blood.

Shiara drew out a white-blue magic sword and stabbed it in Raizel's chest. The sword directly hit Raizel's soul itself and shattered it instantly.

''This is the limitation for you, my fellow transcendent,'' Shiara spoke up, deeply silent.

Raizel's entire body was silent, no whisper or sound coming from his body. It was nothing more than a piece of dead body.

His soul shattered, his entire body seemed to have lost the spirit of a living person.

Shiara slowly walked away a bit from there, a bit trace of happiness of victory appeared on his face.

Suddenly, a strong and terrifying force appeared behind him—it was a familiar force.

Shiara looked behind while sweating a bit.

It was Raizel all along. While his body was consistently dropping blood, Raizel was standing there while holding the sword and brimming magic power in his entire body.

''How in the world are you still alive?'' Shiara asked loudly, slowly trying to fall back.

''I don't know, I don't want to know,'' Raizel replied, fearless as he was slowly walking toward Shiara with the dark-brown sword.

Raizel instantly flew toward Shiara with unmatchable speed and sliced through his chest with the sword.

''How… how could you be this fast?'' Shiara spoke up barely, out of confusion and the storm of questions.

''It's a question of yours but… I have no answer for this question,'' Raizel replied, slowly.

''I wanted to win and I did,'' Raizel added, his voice sounding broken, barely working.

Shiara's body fell on the ground, as his soul left his body—left the world itself.

''I'm still wondering and wondering, what is it that let me win over you? What kind of spirit allowed me to stand?'' Raizel barely spoke up, his voice seemed broken and weakened.

At that moment, his entire body fell to the ground. While a glowing blue magic slowly healed his body, he was exhausted—not because of the battle, but the overuse of magic power which drained his energy completely.

''I… I can't lay down here. I have to go back,'' Raizel spoke up, his exhausted voice barely forming words.

''They're… they're waiting for me,'' Raizel lost his sense, leaving the final words.

Half of the abandoned world had fallen. The sun disappeared and revealed the presence of the moon slowly.

A whole hour passed. Raizel got his consciousness back.

It was evening already as the moon appeared in its full form—a full moon night.

Raizel stared toward the moon and smiled a bit. He drew a magic circle, a blue magic circle covering him entirely.

He vanished from there along with the magic circle, leaving a flash of light behind.

In Zeldia, inside Raizel's home.

Someone was chattering inside Raizel's room—multiple ones, actually. It was the three of them: Aizis, Marco, and Maria.

A flash of light appeared in front of them, revealing Raizel afterward.

''I can predict what you had to do to stop him. Are you sure you won't take some more time to finish the sacred spirits?'' Aizis spoke up as soon as Raizel appeared.

Raizel sat down on his bed, a tiring expression.

''I know I can defeat most of them except a few,'' Raizel replied, took a breath.

''But the problem is their unity. Every single sacred spirit lives in the holy world. It's impossible for me to take them all at the same time,'' he added, tensed a bit.

''Maybe we can help you there. What do you think, Marco?'' Maria spoke up, a bit excited and interested.

''Yes, we know we're still weak for that, but still, I don't mind giving away my life for someone I believe in. And you are one of those people, Raizel,'' Marco replied.

Raizel smiled a bit, stared toward Marco and Maria for a moment.

''I believe we can win if either of you manage to awaken your energy coming from the retainers,'' Raizel said.

''But are you sure it's going to happen? Isn't it too risky?'' Aizis asked, tensed.

''I'm not so sure about this, but I believe it's going to awaken at the right time. Awakening of higher layer energy happens when the vessel holds an extreme level of intention for battle. Just like the way we saw the awakening of multiple students in the event,'' Raizel replied.
