(Aeris POV)
"What is going on there?"
My voice wasn't loud, but it cut through the air sharply enough that the guards froze.
I had stepped onto the balcony, drawn by a sudden commotion from below. When I was just a second away from falling asleep, I heard growling noises and the tense voice of the guards.
The guards stiffened and bowed slightly. "A wolf, my lady. It somehow got through the wall and barrier."
'A wolf?' My brows knitted together.
The cool breeze ruffled my hair, making me shiver. I moved closer to the railing, my eyes narrowed down and my breath caught.
A wolf, white as snow, its fur a sharp contrast against the dark sky. But what made my heart stop beating was its eyes. They were silvery grey… the same shade as the ones that I had seen in Damon.
The wolf turned to me, and its eyes met mine. It was so familiar… like we had known each other for a long time. I felt comfort and ache at the same time.
