Chapter 13 - Alexander Nicator

The next morning Jeevan woke up.

"Where are we headed to?" He asked his master

"To market, where we will sell you."

"Do you think any one else would even buy me?"

 "Yes."

"But, I don't think so! I know myself better than anyone. I believe I am useless. So how can anyone use me? Thus, you should let me go."

"Oh boy! You sure talk a lot."

Jeevan was frightened and worried about the other two. How will I meet them? Will they be fine? Why the heck were they bought? What's gonna happen next? He wondered. He was traveling in a caravan.

It was a comparatively warm afternoon and the sky was clear. Jeevan looked in front of him. The place was a little similar to the place where he was sold, the same stage like structure, it was probably another market where people were sold.

"We are here." The man said.

"You mean, you're gonna sell me!"

"Yup! But not today so rest well till tomorrow."

 "Oh, okay!"

 "Now go back in."

"Getting sold, is the last thing I want! What will happen next!" He whispered to himself "I wish I have a fever tomorrow."

It was dawn, and a new day began. Once again he was taken, then given a number and he stood on a stage.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Start bidding for this cute, teenage boy."

 "Five hundred takspids!"

 "Seven hundred takspids!"

 "Nine hundred takspids!"

 "Eleven hundred takspids!"

 "Twelve hundred takspids!"

 "Thirteen hundred takspids!"

 "Twenty hundred takspids!"

"Twenty hundred one! Twenty hundred two! Twenty hundred three! He is sold in twenty hundred takspids."

Twenty hundred! Who would pay that much for me? His thoughts began again.

 "Hey, I have bought you."

 "For what?"

 "Business."

 "What! Not again!"

"Yeah, I trade young folks like you."

 "You are a human trader!"

"We call it the dark trader!"

 "Ah.... oh..!"

 "Now come in, you fool!"

 "Yeah!"

The vehicle they were traveling in was sort a truck. When he stepped inside he saw many teenagers like him. The person was really a high scale trader. All of them were lying on floor with bedsheets spreaded. He sat down.

"How long are we going to travel?" He asked the boy beside him.

 "Three more days."

 "Oh, thanks for telling."

Jeevan, knew this place was worse than the previous one. His knew owner was worse and his treatment wasn't that good either. Jeevan was scared of the thought of being sold again! He felt as if he was made for being bought and then sold. It also felt a little weird and he was missing his family.

Those three days seemed like three centuries. The environment was depressing and eerie as he spoke to no one. All the kids were stressed and spoke in a sorrowful tune. He was once again given a number, he stood on the higher block and then the people started bidding.

 "Ten hundred takspids!"

 "Twenty hundred takspids!"

 "Thirty hundred takspids!

 "Forty hundred takspids!"

 "Forty-five hundred takspids!"

 "Fifty-five hundred takspids!"

 "Sixty hundred takspids!"

 "Ninety hundred takspids!"

 "One thousand five hundred takspids!"

 "Twenty thousand takspids!"

"Twenty thousand one, twenty thousand two, twenty thousand three! This adorable boy is sold at two thousand takspids."

"Who the heck is paying that much for me!" Jeevan whispered to himself while descending from stairs.

"I have bought you." said a man

Jeevan gazed at him. He was a man of about thirty-five, he was short in height and was wearing a black coat and spectacles.

"Why have you bought me?" Jeevan wished that the answer wasn't business.

 "To earn money."

 "How exactly?"

"By making you rock in showbiz."

"And how exactly are you gonna do that?"

"Simple, by making you an actor."

 "Me..... an... actor!"

"Yup, we have done it many times so it will not be a problem."

"I am not a good actor so how about you allow me to leave? Okay goodbye!"

 "That's not happening!"

 "Fine."

 "What's your name?"

 "Jeevan, Jeevan Bhardwaj."

"Jeevan Bhardwaj! Nah, that's not a filmy name. Let's give you a new name."

 "Your not renaming me, please."

"Yes, I am. Let me think. First, chose a alphabet."

 "J."

"J..... James, Jimmy....., Jordan..., Jim...., nope not J."

 "Then I don't know."

 "Maybe G. G... George..., not G. Then, let's try with R."

 "Fine."

"R... Rio...., Robert...., Richard. Yeah Richard! I feel I can find a better name."

 "Hmph...."

 "Choose an alphabet."

 "Aaaahhhhh"

"Yeah 'a', Alex....., Axel...., Albert...., Arthur....., A...., how about Alexander!"

 "Not at all."

"Yes at all. Alexander Evans, Alexander Smith, Alexander...., Alexander Foster, Alexander Nicator. From today onwards your name will be Alexander Nicator."

 "Alexander Nicator!"
