Chapter 4 - The Demon of Verdant

Planet Xylos, Year 741.

In one of the least populated regions of the planet, there were a few dozen villages, which represented an ephemeral percentage of the hundreds of thousands of inhabitants.

Among these villages, one of them was the smallest and most remote from the others, or rather, it was, until disaster struck.

On a day that seemed like any other, the Xylians of the village went about their normal lives, a life without great excitement, until a massive impact devastated the place.

The mud and stone houses were transformed into nothing more than rubble; what was once their home was now a crater of horror.

Screams of terror and confusion echoed throughout the place; no one was expecting anything like this. Several of them were injured, having to dig through the debris to find the light.

Slowly, everyone was looking up at the sky, staring at the small figure with an appearance completely new to them, a being never seen before. The red star behind her made it harder to see her features, but even so, everyone could see the wide smile of that being, as if it were a predator facing its cornered prey.

At that moment, a mixture of feelings arose within each Xylian present, but the feeling that was not lacking in any of them was fear. They were not very intelligent, but their instincts screamed danger; that small being in the sky was the reaper who would take their lives.

"All of you, help me get stronger, be good training dummies and face me until your deaths!" Her voice, different from theirs, sounded with familiar words.

"That thing... can talk? What kind of animal is that!?" A Xylian cried out in terror.

None of them could believe that this bizarre being knew how to speak their language. Wasn't it an unknown beast?

A robust-bodied Xylian lunged towards that strange being with a jump, while in one of his hands he held something similar to a spear. He wore a cloak similar to all the others, but instead of a shade of brown, his was white.

"No matter what it is, it must die for destroying our home! In the king's name, I will give you your punishment!!" Holding the shaft with both hands, he thrust it towards the head of the strange being.

At the same time, half a dozen other Xylians also grabbed spears, their gazes not as confident as the first, but all had strong determination "Follow the lord! For the king!"

"The worst decision..." the strange being said before grabbing the spear that almost hit her head and was still being pushed towards her "is to take the lead in a lost battle"

*Crack!*

The wooden shaft broke, and the pointed stone blade fell to the ground "Your only advantage is numbers, but you jumped to attack me alone. I think you're even more idiotic than I thought"

In the next instant, a powerful kick was directed at the chest of that courageous Xylian. Without being able to react, the blow sent him flying back to the ground.

"Argh!!" Upon hitting the ground, forming a small, shallower hole within the crater that was once the village, he spat blood as pain invaded his body.

The others who had picked up their spears were shocked to see the scene, but swallowing their fear, they jumped together, shouting in fury, "Ahhhh!!!"

...

Stretched out on the ground, surrounded by rubble and dead bodies, with the smell of blood invading her nostrils, Radissa's breathing was heavy, while her body ached more than ever.

There were a dozen cuts all over her body, numerous marks from blows she had taken, at least two broken ribs, besides some cracked ones, and the blood of those aliens was drying on her armor.

"Even though they were a bunch of trash, I guess there was no way I could have come out unscathed fighting so arrogantly..." Her childish voice came out in a sigh, filled with pain.

She didn't move her body, just stared at the sky, while a weak smile played on her lips, carrying the satisfaction of a good fight.

If the difference between her and the Xylians was purely the difference in power, instead of her being the victor, there would be a dozen of them devouring her right now.

While Radissa's power level was 580 PL, theirs ranged between 350 and 450 PL; there was even one of them with almost 500 PL. So the difference, although notable, would not be enough to ignore the numerical advantage.

There were several factors in Radissa's victory, but the main ones were Ki control and strategy.

She herself put aside the best strategy to have some difficulty. After all, she could have at least halved the number of opponents before being noticed.

Still, the fact that she got rid of some and caused general damage in her warning attack was decisive in facilitating the fight.

But without a doubt, her greatest advantage was Ki control. In a basic analogy, she was someone who knew a fighting style, while those aliens only had muscles, without even knowing how to punch properly.

Even if everyone uses Ki naturally, it's not the same as using it consciously. Whether to expend less energy or to put more force into her blows, Radissa was far superior to them.

This made her small power superiority an absurd advantage, which even the union of dozens of Xylians was not enough to overcome.

Getting up with difficulty, the little girl placed her hand on her ribs "This is the first time I've been this hurt since my death... But I can't stay here. One of those ugly ones escaped; he might be bringing more of them to get me. That would be my end"

Slowly, her body began to float, heading towards that dense forest, the safest place she knew.

...

While the little Saiyan hid in the forest, in a village considerably larger than the one she attacked, a Xylian arrived in a desperate flight.

"Village lord! Village lord! Please, avenge my brothers!" the alien shouted before a sturdy house.

His loud voice drew the attention of several residents, who began to approach, filled with confusion and worry. They could notice the absence of one of the arms of that desperate Xylian, as well as other signs of fighting.

Coming out of the house, a robust Xylian, who seemed taller than the others and with a slightly more vivid color. He wore a white cloak that covered his muscular body.

If Radissa were here, she would assimilate this Xylian with the first one who attacked her, but she would also notice that this one was stronger.

"Tell me, what happened to you? What vile being caused so much trouble for you to come to another village for help?" the lord of that village said, giving a stern look to the injured Xylian.

"They all died... That being... That demon killed them all!" His voice, full of rage, sounded almost like crying.

Everyone around was frightened. An entire village had been destroyed? It would make sense if it were some powerful Xylian like the king, but from what the injured man said, that didn't seem to be the case.

"A demon?" The village lord made a confused expression "What did this demon look like? Tell me!"

...

A month passed in the blink of an eye, and a bizarre rumor was slowly spreading throughout Planet Xylos.

East of the great Verdant Forest, a village was devastated by a terrible demon. Its appearance is nothing like anything they have ever seen; its small size is deceiving, and its ability to speak serves only to spread evil.

Some see this as a legend, which they were using to scare others, while others believed it and feared encountering this demon.

This rumor had already reached the ears of the king, who did not care much about the fact that a village had been completely destroyed, much more focused on the event that would be held in half a year, where his daughter would be given to the strongest warrior.

...

In the Verdant Forest, a vigorous laugh echoed, "Hahaha!" causing several animals to become alert or even flee.

Radissa stood before her ship, with the scouter in her hands. After a long month of recovery, she was back to 100%, so she decided to check her power, having felt an increase in it; the famous Zenkai had occurred.

"820 PL! My power increased a lot. I knew it would be a great idea to fight for real!" She was very excited.

Even knowing that this was achieved through a fight that, with a little less luck, could have caused her death, she was still very satisfied.

Now she was confident in dominating this entire planet before she turned five years old.

In the month she was recovering, she thought a lot about how she should act. After all, the probability of them having technology to leave the planet was very low.

She could deduce this just from what she saw in that village, but also from how the Xylians reacted to her, as if she were an unknown animal, not even seeming to consider the idea of her being from another planet.

With such a small chance of there being ships for her to use, Radissa had decided to leave this planet as quickly as possible and try her luck on another.

However, it would be risky to do so. Even after her Zenkai, she would not leave until she was able to defeat the strongest being on this planet. At that point, she would have the strength to take care of herself on most planets.

'If it were today, that village would have been erased in my first attack, but not everyone is as weak as them, so it should still be useful to use them for training. It's time for me to attack a few more villages; I won't hide in this forest anymore!' With an excited smile, she stored the scouter inside her ship.

...

On the same day, at dusk, Radissa was above a village. Torches illuminated the front of the houses, while several Xylians gathered around a large bonfire.

It looked like a small celebration, which was about to be interrupted by the demon who returned to her hunt.

'If I use a powerful Ki attack now, maybe a dozen of them will survive, but even they will be too injured to fight...' Radissa bit the tip of her thumb, while not losing her smile, which was both cute and frightening.

As if turning off her flight ability, the little girl free-fell at a very high speed, and in an instant, she was on the ground.

A thunderous sound echoed through the village, coming from right where the huge bonfire was set up, and before all those celebrating aliens, Radissa had appeared.

Everyone looked in her direction, only to see that she was not stepping on the ground, but on the broken skull of one of them, who didn't even have time to feel pain.

This was a village east of the Verdant Forest, so they had already heard those rumors about the demon. At that moment, some of them had already lost their hopes.

"The demon is real!" A cry rang out full of terror, only to be silenced in the next instant.

Radissa's bloodied fist slowly left the skull of that Xylian, while she floated just enough to be at their height "Demon? Me? You're the ugly monsters here, not me. But I understand, it's about point of view, so I won't be offended"

While she spoke, one of them tried to flee, running away from there. Her gaze caught this, and in the next instant, a beam of light the thickness of a finger was fired, hitting one of the fugitive's legs.

A piercing scream of pain rang out, while everyone could see that Xylian falling to the ground, with one of his legs torn off.

"I don't care if you try to run away after being defeated, but at least try to fight. Where is your vigor? At least the people from the other village shouted, 'For the king!' and attacked me, but won't you even try?" She flicked some of the blood on her fist onto the ground.

"I hope you give me some challenge, or else I'll have to attack another village before sunrise" With that, there were already a dozen furious Xylians coming to attack her, which made her smile.
