Chapter 134 - Trusting the Enemy

Dawn came upon the land, but not in the lives of many. The king was in jeopardy, and his ministers were in chaos. Rowan had not slept, not when Elias was brought back passed out, and by one he dared not shake hands with.

"I should have your head for trespassing," Rowan hissed, staring at Sunny, who hadn't left. They stood outside the western tower, before his shared bedroom with Elias, as Mason and Cyrus helped the consort.

"I can't leave, not when he is not okay," Sunny muttered, his eyes to the ground and his back leaning against the wall. His voice sounded caring, but not in the romantic way.

"Your leader sent you here? Doesn't he know it is bad to harbor feelings for a married man?"

"Yeah… and you married a concubine," Sunny snapped, his gaze now settled on Rowan.

Rowan's lips curled. "Indeed… but it doesn't change the fact I am married to the man he is lusting after."

"Lusting?" Sunny laughed. "There is no lust. He loves him, and in the best way possible."
