"When a child proves he has grown, then it is time for his parents to let go," a thundering voice echoed, and Prince Edmon froze.
"Mo... mother," he stammered.
The giant door pushed open, and the sounds of clicking heels echoed. Prince Edmon turned towards that direction, and his breath caught. His steps staggered backward, and the world tilted.
"How are you here?" Edmon demanded, but his mother smirked.
"So this is how you tarnish the reputation of the kingdom? How dare you aid with treason?" Queen Elena roared.
"And what... You are here to save the day as always?" Edmon snarled.
"All I wanted was my right. I should have the throne; it should be me there ruling the people, but your old hag ass has refused to acquiesce, so I do what I have to."
Queen Elena stared at her son, bewildered. She had no idea he had gotten so consumed by hatred.
