The palace was humming with tension. The guests who had not left before the sudden invasion of Edmon's army were held hostage.
Within the western tower, Consort Elias was still on the situation of Adela when Blake stormed into the room.
"We have to leave... now!" he yelled, and without delay, Lior was taken by Aston and Blake carried the consort, as his body was still weak.
Just as the door of the secret passage slammed behind them, the men of Edmon bashed in—only to find an empty room.
"Hurry... search around; we must find them!" the commander roared, but the consort and heir were nowhere to be found.
Within the secret passage, Elias stopped the guards.
"We can't leave the castle, not when Rowan is in danger."
Blake stopped. "But the king ordered we take you and the prince out of the palace and await his orders."
Elias shook his head. His body was weak, but he couldn't bring himself to leave without offering something.
