Chapter 7 - Binding Vow

Harimu City

Located in the central part of the Yorbian Continent, also falls within the territory of the United States of Saherta. Harimu City, an unremarkable place with no outstanding features, still sees a steady flow of people entering and leaving every day.

That's because the famous Harimu Ruins are located here.

In fact, Harimu City was built leveraging the fame of the Harimu Ruins.

"So this is the Harimu Ruins, known as the 'Land of Death'? It truly lives up to its reputation…"

Akira stood by the floor-to-ceiling window on the upper floor of the hotel, this spot with the best view in the entire building. Looking out through the window, one could directly see the vast expanse of the Harimu Ruins outside the city.

To the average person, the Harimu Ruins are just a slightly larger area compared to ordinary ruins, with nothing particularly unusual about them. But under akira 'Eye' gaze, the central part of the Harimu Ruins in the distance was gathering an immense amount of death aura!

Just looking at it, one could feel the overwhelming sense of lifelessness, as if it wanted to devour anyone who tried to approach it. It was like a massive, continuous dark cloud, completely enveloping the center of the Harimu Ruins, making it impossible for outsiders to enter or see clearly.

The Harimu Ruins are roughly divided into two parts, appearing circular when viewed from above. Based on the presence or absence of death aura, the V5 has designated the outer city, which lacks death aura, as a tourist site open to anyone.

The inner city, filled with death aura, is not open to ordinary people, and only certain Nen users can enter and exit.

Among the Nen users who come here, most are either ruin hunters or treasure hunters, but it's said that no one has ever reached the depths. Because within the death aura, Nen users need to expend a significant amount of aura every minute, and the deeper one goes, the higher the concentration of death aura.

In truth, ruins are the least scarce thing on this continent.

In the world of Hunter x Hunter, which has the Dark Continent as part of its worldview, there are numerous ruins scattered across the several continents. And the vast majority of them have not been fully explored—precisely because of the presence of death aura!

Among them, the Harimu Ruins are one of the most dangerous, due to their much stronger death aura compared to other ruins, earning them the title, 'Land of Death.'

Akira felt the progress bar in his mind, symbolizing the incubation of Pokémon, slowly advancing, and murmured to himself, "I didn't expect the first ruin to give me such a surprise."

Since that day when he killed Pierce and Hoss and obtained his identification, akira had embarked on his journey.

Considering that in the explanation of his Nen abilities, not every place would reward Pokémon, and that participating in events during the original storyline could increase the incubation probability, akira decided to postpone visiting places like the Heaven's Arena and Tricktower City, which were heavily described in the original story.

Even without prioritizing these locations, there were still many famous places to visit across the six continents. For example: the 'Land of Death' Harimu, the 'City of Pleasures' Glam gas land… and so on.

After truly arriving in this world, akira realized that the locations mentioned in the plot were merely the tip of the iceberg! The reason he came to the Harimu Ruins first was purely coincidental—it was very close to the town where he had appeared. So, akira decided to try his luck here.

To his surprise, the first ruin he visited already housed a Pokémon. Akira stroked his chin, deep in thought. Was the probability of encountering a Pokémon here just that high, or was he simply incredibly lucky?

As he gazed at the distant Harimu Ruins, akira couldn't help but feel a desire to explore further. Even if he couldn't venture deep inside, just seeing the exterior would be a worthwhile experience.

Akira planned to wander around the town first, quietly waiting for the progress bar to fill up, and then welcome his second Pokémon.

He wondered which Pokémon it would be.

.......

These past few days, akira hadn't been idle.

After repeatedly analyzing his Nen ability, an idea began to form in his mind. From the very beginning, he had found it strange that the Pokédex lacked information on Gardevoir.

Finally, he thought of a method that might not only complete the Pokédex information but also enhance the strength of his Pokémon! And this would require utilizing the vast knowledge of Pokémon stored in his mind.

Restriction and Vow!

In simple terms, it meant setting rules, making an internal oath, and adhering to them. The more challenging the rules, the greater the power unleashed.

If ordinary Nen abilities were like addition, then Nen abilities bound by rules were like multiplication—their power would increase exponentially.

Kurapika, driven by his hatred for the Phantom Troupe, set a restriction that his Nen could only be used against the Troupe, granting him immense power.

In just a short period of training, he was able to match members of the Troupe who had trained for years.

Restriction and Vow were fair—while they granted power, they also imposed strict limitations. If the vow was broken, the user could suffer backlash, potentially losing their Nen ability or even their life.

What akira needed to do was establish his own Restriction and Vow! This was a decision akira had made after careful consideration.

After arriving in this world, he felt that his greatest advantage was his Nen ability, 'Pokémon Master.' His second advantage was the precious memories from his time on Earth! These memories weren't just about his foreknowledge of the original plot but also his deep understanding of Pokémon.

So…

Here, he would set the rules! For each Pokémon, he would have one minute to recite everything about it, including its characteristics, attributes, and even its base stats and learnable moves.

With 50% as the average, if he could recount more than 50% of the knowledge, the Pokémon strength would increase, potentially by a whole tier!

If he recounted less than 50%, the Pokémon strength would decrease, potentially by a whole tier!

Akira intended to turn the knowledge in his mind into tangible power!

First of all, even if the Restriction and Vow failed, he wouldn't lose much—at most, he'd be a little disappointed. But if it succeeded, the rewards would be beyond words!

If it truly succeeded, Gardevoir could potentially rise from its current B-tier to A-tier!

Deep down, akira felt a strange sensation lingering in his heart. A balance between gain and sacrifice—Restriction and Vow, established!
