Chapter 11 - My Nen Ability is Called 'Safety Condom'

Standing in front of the gate, Akira half-joked, "To be honest, I'm a Conjurer. My Nen ability is to create a humanoid Nen beast. It doesn't have any offensive capabilities, but it can create a barrier that isolates death aura. So, I've named my Nen ability 'Safety Condom'!" Akira said proudly.

Hearing this, the group expressions were surprisingly uniform, their lips twitching as they struggled to find a response. There was no issue with him being a Conjurer—after all, the Nen beast was right beside him.

While Emission users were the most common to employ Nen beasts, Conjurers also frequently used them. So, everyone could understand that part. Your Nen beast lacking offensive capabilities isn't an issue.

Normally, Nen abilities are developed with a specific focus in mind. From what we've seen so far, this Nen beast leans heavily toward defense, so it's perfectly normal for it to lack offensive abilities.

Seeing the expressions of the others, who seemed ready to complain, Akira didn't say much. Instead, he chuckled inwardly and directed his Gardevoir to use Safeguard on the group.

"Everyone, brace yourselves. You're about to be wrapped in bubbles."

Six translucent bubbles flew toward them, enveloping each person securely. The lingering aura of death that had been clinging to them retreated rapidly as the Safeguard approached.

They felt as if their bodies were soaking in a warm spring, the chilling sensation that had been eroding them vanishing in an instant. The fatigue that had built up over time seemed to dissipate completely.

Akira observed quietly, noting that Safeguard also had the added effect of alleviating fatigue.

Under the eager gazes of the group, Akira had Gardevoir first attempt to use Safeguard on the gate. If that didn't work, they'd resort to Heal Bell.

After all, prevention consumed less energy than removal, and he wasn't obligated to play the hero by eliminating the death aura.

A large bubble of Nen energy clung to the gate. Though it wasn't as effective, everyone could clearly see the death aura gradually retreating.

It worked!

Instantly, the group looked at Akira with admiration. Only Young Master Pete gaze remained inscrutable, his eyes hidden behind sunglasses, filled with an unreadable expression.

After a few minutes, the death aura on the gate had completely dissipated, revealing the gate original appearance. Unlike the intricate carvings on the outside, the patterns on the gate were incredibly crude.

Was this the influence of the death aura? The artistic style had also undergone a dramatic shift, depicting one bizarre creature after another.

Akira stepped aside, gesturing for the others to proceed. This was what they had agreed on earlier—Akira would handle the death aura, and the rest of the tasks were up to them. Though the most dangerous element, the death aura, was gone, the heavy stone gate wasn't something that could be opened easily.

At least, they didn't see any mechanism to open it directly. They'd have to force it open! They needed someone skilled in offense.

Pete and his two bodyguards remained silent. Seeing this, the youngest of the three siblings, the hip-hop guy, volunteered.

He set down his backpack, stood in front of the gate, closed his eyes, and lowered his stance, shifting his center of gravity. His fists, as large as sandbags, clenched tightly. A faint yellow aura enveloped his fists, exuding a sharp, piercing sensation.

In the next moment, his eyes snapped open, a flash of brilliance disappearing as quickly as it came. His fists, reinforced by Nen, were harder than steel, shooting forward like bullets with a sharp, tearing sound.

Each heavy strike left a noticeable dent in the stone gate, and as the pile of rock fragments on the ground grew, a path as dark as a black hole appeared before them.

Only after he had smashed a hole large enough for people to pass through did the hip-hop guy stop. His slightly heaving chest showed that the effort had taken its toll.

As the gate opened, an indescribable, strange odor wafted out.

Apart from Akira, the others instinctively pulled out gas masks and put them on. Having been seasoned veterans in this field, they naturally understood the precautions needed for long-sealed caves. The gas masks were just the most basic form of protection.

Seeing that Akira was completely unprepared, the bespectacled man beside him handed over an extra gas mask he had brought.

The skill Akira had just displayed had already earned their utmost respect, especially for treasure hunters like them, who fully understood the importance of Akira abilities! To them, befriending Akira meant an infinite future!

With hearts full of excitement and anticipation, they stepped into the cave, as if countless treasures were within their grasp!

Even after entering the cave, there were still a large number of lingering aura. To make it easier for Akira to dispel them, he and Gardevoir took up a position in the middle of the group. On the left were Pete and his two companions, while on the right were the three siblings.

Only after entering the cave did Akira realize it wasn't completely pitch black.

Along the stone walls on either side, there were glowing orbs at regular intervals, providing faint illumination. Could these be the so-called "night pearls"?
