Chapter 57 - Man behind the Throne

At the same moment the Celestial being's massive starship appeared in the sky, nations across the world had already detected its presence.

Tokyo Area – Administrative Conference Room

Dozens of suited elites, the very picture of high-ranking officials, stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows of the skyscraper.

Every single one of them stared in disbelief at the gargantuan vessel that now dominated the heavens.

"What… what the hell is that?! An alien spaceship?!"

"That's the most likely explanation!"

"How could this happen? Why now, of all times?!"

Some marveled at the sheer technology looming above them, while others trembled at the implications of its existence.

Amidst the chaos, an elderly man seated at the head of the conference table slowly opened his eyes. His weathered face, lined with age, betrayed no emotion—save for a sharp glint in his gaze as he turned to his secretary.

"Do we have any data on that thing in the sky?" he asked, voice steady.

"Reporting to Advisor Tendou—our teams are currently analyzing and measuring its parameters," the secretary replied respectfully.

The old man's name was Tendou Kikunojou—the highest-ranking official in the Tokyo Area, second only to its ruler, the Holy Emperor.

The True Power Behind the Throne

Though officially just an advisor, everyone with half a brain knew the truth: Tendou Kikunojou was the real ruler of Tokyo.

The so-called "Holy Emperor" sitting on the throne? Nothing more than a puppet—a figurehead propped up for appearances.

Every official in this room answered to Tendou, not the Emperor. Publicly, they paid lip service to the throne. Privately? They couldn't care less.

As Tendou spoke, the other officials quickly settled back into their seats, their attention fixed on him like soldiers awaiting orders.

Yet, despite their eager questions, Tendou remained silent.

Truthfully? Even he wasn't sure what to make of the monstrous ship.

If it was aliens, that would at least make sense. But if it was man-made…

That would be a problem.A big problem.

If any human faction had developed technology like this, the delicate balance of global power would shatter overnight. The entire world—including Tokyo—would be forced to kneel.

And worse… Tendou knew of an organization called Five Wings—a group hell-bent on world domination.

If they got their hands on this kind of power? The consequences would be catastrophic.

Not that Tendou opposed them out of some noble love for peace. No—he, too, had his own ambitions for the world.

Just as the tense silence stretched on, a knock echoed through the room.

Several intelligence officers entered, carrying fresh reports on the starship's measurements.

The moment the data was displayed, the room erupted in shock.

"W-What?! Impossible! It's covering the entire hemisphere?! And we still can't get a full scan of its structure?!"

"How does something like this even exist?!"

Every face in the room twisted in varying degrees of disbelief.

This… was beyond human comprehension.

If this battleship could envelop an entire hemisphere of Earth, then it had to be larger than the planet itself.

There was no way—no conceivable way—this was something humans could have built.

As Tendou Kikunojou reviewed the data, deep wrinkles carved into his aged face. The situation was beyond anything he had anticipated, leaving even him at a loss.

Then—chaos erupted.

The conference room doors burst open as several figures rushed in, panic written across their faces.

"Advisor Tendou—it's terrible!"

"The Holy Emperor—she's disappeared!"

A young man in an ornate military uniform, glasses perched on his nose, hurried inside.

"Bousaku Takuto," Tendou said, his voice calm but firm. "Compose yourself. Explain properly."

Outwardly, Tendou remained unshaken. Inwardly? His stomach dropped.

Bousaku Takuto—Captain of the Holy Emperor's Guard, Third Lieutenant, and a notorious hothead from the military's radical faction—took a breath before recounting the events.

(Not that he was competent. The man was a coward who took pleasure in gunning down Cursed Children for sport.)

Tendou sighed deeply after hearing the report."Truly, one disaster after another..."

He'd known the Holy Emperor had been investigating the Gastrea Virus lately. He hadn't stopped her—she'd learn the truth eventually anyway.

Of course, he'd warned her to back off. But clearly, she hadn't listened. Now, he suspected her disappearance—and this colossal ship—might be connected.

Just as he pondered this, another frantic voice echoed outside:"Advisor! Turn on the TV—now!"

"Why?" Tendou demanded.

"It's—it's the master of that thing in the sky! They're addressing the world!"

The room exploded into uproar. Tendou's composure cracked as he barked orders. Bousaku, ever the eager lackey, scrambled to switch on the screen.

Then—a face appeared.

A man of breathtaking beauty, his features sharp as ice, gazed down from the broadcast.

The room froze.

"Wait… that's a human?!"

"I thought only aliens could build something like that!"

The man—Rin Yuki—sat upon a silver throne, hovering high above Tokyo. His expression was utterly merciless, as though he were the sovereign of the cosmos itself.

"People of this world," he began, voice echoing like judgment. "I bring both good news and bad."

"The bad? I intend to judge every last one of you."

"The good? A select few… may be spared."

The world erupted. Some scoffed. Others gasped. Many dismissed it as a joke—

—Until Yuki proved his power.

With a flick of his wrist, OAA (Overlord of Absolute Authority), his celestial enforcer, plucked a random man from the streets.

Then—his entire life played out on screen. Every sin, every cruelty.

The moment his crimes were confirmed? He was sucked into a black cube.

And Yuki broadcast the cube's interior.

The world watched, horrified, as the man writhed in endless darkness—trapped in agony that refused to let him die.

He tore at his own flesh, howling, only for his wounds to heal just enough to prolong the torment.

Silence.

Then terror.
