Chapter 27 - [27] Convincing with Power

After following Shisui to a residence within the Uchiha compound, Yuhara paused as Shisui gave him a nod and pushed the door open for him.

Clearly, Shisui wasn't going in—he would stand guard outside. Whatever came next, it was up to Yuhara alone.

Yuhara was surprised at how quickly Shisui had arranged this meeting. He had no idea what Shisui had told the elder to prompt this so soon, nor could he predict how the conversation would unfold. But since the elder had requested to see him, Yuhara wasn't afraid in the slightest.

Even though he had only recently awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, it had already made him far stronger than before.

If things got troublesome, he wouldn't hesitate to use his eyes.

It's not that he wanted conflict—he would much prefer to handle things peacefully—but that didn't mean he would shy away from it.

He wasn't running either. He couldn't. The entire clan had already dragged him into this whether he liked it or not.

Stepping slowly into the room, Yuhara couldn't help but glance around with curiosity. It was his first time inside, after all.

The space was small and austere, with traditional sliding doors on either side. The only decoration was a hanging scroll in the center with the kanji for "忍" (Nin). Beneath it sat the elder Shisui had mentioned—if Yuhara remembered correctly, this man was Uchiha Sō.

"I just hope you've got a little brother named Uchiha Kai… or maybe a boss named that. Either would be good," Yuhara joked to himself, trying to lighten his nerves.

He approached and stood directly in front of the elder, looking down at him from above without sitting.

Uchiha Sō frowned slightly at Yuhara's posture. It struck him as deeply disrespectful. But that thought didn't last long—he quickly pushed it away.

Yes, Yuhara's behavior was rude. But if what Shisui had told him was true, then Uchiha Yuhara had every right to be this bold.

The Mangekyō Sharingan… he had actually awakened the Mangekyō!

Since the days of Uchiha Madara and the chaos of the generation that followed—when four members had Mangekyō—the entire clan had only seen one Mangekyō wielder in modern times: Shisui.

But now, the childhood friend who had grown up beside Shisui had done it too.

Shisui had been trained personally by Sō. He trusted Shisui deeply and knew he wouldn't make things up.

But Yuhara? He was different. He'd always kept his distance from clan politics and didn't seem to carry any of the usual Uchiha pride. In fact, he often acted as if he didn't even identify with the clan.

Perhaps that's exactly why he was able to observe everything from an outsider's perspective and identify the real problems within the clan.

His methods were unconventional—some might even call them traitorous—but the key point was this: he had convinced Shisui to believe in him.

Sō sighed deeply, then looked up at the young man towering over him.

"Sit down, child."

"Thank you for your hospitality, Elder," Yuhara replied with a faint smile before sitting.

Yuhara wasn't the kind of person who enjoyed throwing his weight around. But he understood that sometimes, you had to show strength if you wanted to be taken seriously.

Fear wasn't the best foundation for trust or loyalty—but sometimes it was necessary to be intimidating to get people to listen.

Ideally, he preferred to win people over with logic. But if logic wasn't enough… he could always rely on the other kind of "reason"—the physical kind.

"Shisui came to see me. He told me a great deal," said Uchiha Sō once Yuhara had taken his seat.

Yuhara raised an eyebrow. "Oh? And what exactly did he say? And what's the urgent reason for summoning me like this?"

"I want to hear your plans," Sō answered bluntly. "Shisui said you intend to remove the current clan head and reunite the family."

"It's an extremely dangerous idea… but I must admit, it could be what's best for the clan."

"So tell me. What exactly are you planning to do? What is your vision, and how will you make it happen?"

"Shisui wants me to support you. But I need to see that you're worth supporting."

Just want to see hope, huh?

Yuhara believed part of what the old man said, but only part. He was sure Sō wasn't being entirely honest.

Thinking back on everything he'd said to Shisui recently, Yuhara began to get a headache. He had talked too much during their conversations.

Still, he realized one thing: what likely tipped the scales wasn't his words—but his Mangekyō Sharingan.

That was probably what made the old man so willing to talk.

And that meant Yuhara held the upper hand.

"You want to know my plans?"

Yuhara gave a faint smile, then slowly closed his eyes.

In the next instant, a wave of chakra erupted from his body—heavy, oppressive, and full of destructive energy. Even Uchiha Sō couldn't help but feel a flicker of fear in his heart.

"I understand what you're really asking, Elder. But I think it's more than just that."

"I don't know exactly what Shisui told you, but I do know this—you agreed to meet me because of one thing."

"Something you fear, but also desire. Something that could change everything for the Uchiha."

As he opened his eyes, his Sharingan spun to life, shifting into the distinct triangular pattern of the Mangekyō.

"You wanted confirmation, didn't you? You wanted to know for sure that I had them."

"The Mangekyō Sharingan."
