Chapter 4 - The Revelations

Richard's POV

After I had signed documents, of course, I wanted to know more about these people who I was getting intertwined with. People who were now going to be involved in my everyday life. I wanted to know more about them as I looked at them.

"So are you going to tell me who you guys are and what company this is? Why does my father own such a company and why did I know nothing about it? Why was I abandoned? Why was I thrown out by my own father? You guys are going to explain everything to me," I requested as he smiled.

"My name is Smith Dorian. Yes, I am your father's immediate assistant, and yes, you have been kept in the dark for a long time. I am sorry your father never told you the truth. But he had his reasons and he knew he would never be able to face you. He just wanted to test you. But then he became so greedy and wanted to see you strive. Wanted to see you succeed despite not telling you the truth behind everything. And that is why he said all those words to you," Dorian said to me as I laughed.

"This is also crazy. It makes no sense to me at all. How can you tell me to my face that my father disowned me and abandoned me for no reason? He had no exact reason for deciding to throw me away like I was not his son. Behave like he doesn't know me just like that. And you are telling me he had his own reasons? He became greedy. He wanted to see me strive. Wanted to see me strive to suffer, right?" I yelled, unable to hold in my anger as Dorian placed his hand again on my shoulder.

"I am not trying to oppose anything. Yes, your father might be wrong to you. And your father might have done a very bad thing by even daring to get as close as making you pass through hell despite being so rich. But this is your time to stand up to the people who have wronged you. It is time for you to do them back. Most especially you have to find out who did something like that to your parents. And to do that, you need to keep your identity a secret," he muttered to me as I laughed.

"Really? Now it all leads back to a secret. After getting all the money I had always wished I had, after knowing my family are secretly very wealthy, I am to still keep those same things a secret. Does it even make any sense to you? Because it's not making any sense to me and I am already getting fed up with this. I am getting fed up already. I don't want to continue this way. I don't want to continue this. Please find a way out because I would not accept this astroturf rubbish from you guys," I insisted and was about to come out again only for me to remember that the car was locked.

"Open this fucking car right now," I yelled at them as he shrugged.

"I can't do it. I have to take you to your father's villa. You have to start work as soon as possible. If you don't take good care of the things your father left, it would crumble in a day. If there's nobody to control your father's wealth, everything will crumble. You need to back you up. And your father had kept someone for you who would put you through, who would help you while you stayed behind the doors and watch. He doesn't want you to pass through all the stress. He did not want you to be wayward just because he was wealthy. That was why he kept everything a secret from you all these years," Dorian tried to explain to me but I really did not care.

"I don't care whatever explanation you're trying to give. I don't care how you try to favor my father. It makes no fucking sense to me. No fucking sense, and I won't accept it. I would not accept that he abandoned me. I refuse to take that. I refuse to take the fact that he could do something like that to me. Please, let's just find a way out of this. I want a way out of this. Please," I pleaded with them and just as expected, the car door was opened.

"If you step out of the car, I don't have any other way of getting you back in. I would not force you to embrace what your father left. I would not force you to take what rightfully belongs to you. I would leave you with your choices. Everything would now be up to you and you alone. I won't intervene. I would leave your father's company to crumble because I have done my part and I have been paid to do my part. So even if I leave you, your father would not judge me from heaven or from wherever he is," Dorian said to me as I squeezed my hand into a fist.

"Even now that I have all the wealth in the world, I can't even decide for myself. Yet I feel like I am to blame. Everything that is happening, I am to blame too for it." I looked at him and scoffed before sitting back down as I arranged my suit.

"Fine. Take me there. Take me to the villa and let me meet whoever I have to meet. Let's get to work. I still need to find out who did this to my parents. I still need to find out who would hate them so bad that they would butcher them in that way like they were useless," I said to him as he smiled before signaling for the driver as they started the car.

And then I noticed it was not just that car that was parked there; there were up to four of them, all luxurious as they drove. As I turned around, Dorian chuckled silently.

"All those cars escorting us, it all belongs to you. When you get to the villa, you will now understand how wealthy your father is. Maybe when you see the kind of wealth he has, you will understand why he kept the power and the empire a secret from you. Because even if you were placed in his shoes, you would have done the same thing to your son knowing how well what every other person and every other child would be if they find out their father has a wealth accumulated as much as that," he said to me as I groaned angrily.

I just wanted all this to come to an end already. I was already so frustrated and so tired, continuously getting into trouble and most especially I felt so pissed. I noticed that the ambulance had already driven past us when I turned to Dorian again.

"So what's going to happen to their corpses? What would happen?" I questioned as he calmed me down.

"Do not worry, do not panic too much. Nothing bad is happening to them. Everything is going to go just as it's supposed to be. They will get the peace they want, but their funeral will be in a few days. Someone else would go in your position. You can be there in secret but you would not go crying in front of their grave so your enemies would not know and so that nobody would have an idea that he has a son in secret that has access to everything he ever owned. You would see the people who are ready to go to any length just to get your father's wealth. Only if you stay undercover," he warned as I nodded.

"I can't wait for all this to be over. I can't wait to really see what Mr. Dorian was trying to explain that my father has so much wealth."
