Once Lillian was done with the day's work in the laboratory, she stretched her arms in exhaustion. Beside her was Ryder, briefing her on everything she had to do yesterday.
When she worked under Mike, Lillian had to do everything by herself with barely any guides. There were heavy expectations placed on her shoulder by Mike, and every time she fell short, he would stare at her in disappointment as if she couldn't achieve much in life.
Now, with a senior to guide her, Lillian felt more relaxed. With a solemn expression, she carefully listened to everything he had to say.
"I would treat you to dinner," he said, "but I have tutoring to get to."
Lillian shook her head. "My brother is here to pick me up."
Her eyes went towards Miles. Leaning against his white car, he typed on his phone. Upon feeling Lillian's eyes on him, he raised his hand and waved at her.
