"You went to visit the Lu Family?" asked Jason. His brows were tightly knitted together, facing Eva.
Eva stopped arranging the flowers on the vase. Raising her head, she stared at the man in surprise. Guilt crossed through her eyes for a second before she nodded her head.
"I wanted to check on Lillian," said Eva, "I was afraid they will be mistreating her. What's the matter?"
"What was their attitude?"
"Well, they weren't pleased with me being there. They feel betrayed because I chose to live here," Eva responded, "that's why, they want to keep Lillian close.
However, Lily is used to comfort from childhood and has naivety in her. I don't want her to get easily deceived by them and hurt."
"The Lu Family doesn't appear that poor," pointed out Jason. "Miles Lu took Lillian out to shop in big name brands."
Eva sighed, shaking her head.
"He does have some money, but all that is not properly earned. You know, how he is a doctor. He gets bribed by the rich to cover their crimes.
