Midnight struck, me and marsh standing behind the headlights of the delta base as he equipped me his gun and some extra ammo. he just has a scythe but when i first saw him i kinda just shrugged off since i know he can singlehandedly oblitirate the base.
Two guards on south. bang bang! their bodies dropped like flies.
Other guards rush in to the scene as he takes a turn to cut em up in pieces.
we rush in to the base chopping down, shooting and blowing it to pieces, Backup arrived.
we look outside as huge convoy trucks bust open with hundreds of soldiers surrounding the building as we continue killing those who messed with us.
keep in mind we were in a state of happiness, closer to the edge of freedom. we just need to break the last bit of their defense and we're off out of their radar.
if only we thought it'd be that easy as we see an armored tank and fully equipped soldiers waiting for us outside.
"shit. well we cant die now, lets blow em up" i say to him as he nodded and cloned hundreds of himself rushing towards them. bullets flying, tanks blowing up pieces of the base giving zero damn about property damage as we saw their true selves right in front of our eyes.
dashing in i shoot 3 of these damn bastards down as the tank aims straight at me, frozen. it shoots.. marsh tackles me to the ground
"FOCUS! YOU GOT THIS!" he said and thats all the motivation i needed to aim my finger at the tank and with all my might i yell "BOOM!" As the tank blows up and kills everyone surrounding the tank and parts fly off the field.
helicopters arrive as he aims his finger at the helicopter casually dropping it down as it falls and explodes too but the thing is.. he casted a beam while mine is not. it's literally invisible as he turned to me in awe
"Did you just magically blow the tank up?. holy you're a powerful guy! we should spar at some point" he said as he looked behind us and thousands of military personnel, couple of armored tanks and 5 helicopters aiming their lights at us.
"FREEZE!" They yell at us as i look at marsh.
"The hell do you want from us now?!" i yell at them.
"We'll take you in, president needs you two" they said.
what the fuck does the president need 2 mentally derranged people with PTSD?
we get taken away from the delta force base and to an undisclosed location.
i turn to marsh worried what they might do to us as the throw us out of the van and... here he was. president michael.
thats what they told us while we were on our way anyway.
the president watched us get thrown out roughly as he told his henchmen to be light on us and walk us down a large hallway.
"Delta Entities huh.. you guys were meant to be silenced but i wont let them slide that easily with such inhumane, torturous methods of research upon our kind." president spoke formally.
"But mister president you didnt do anything about the incident! we were left to rot!" marsh responded and i agreed with him. we just been the outcasts of society because they had their inhumane ways to do research.
the president sat us down and spoke softly "i must admit you guys are basically super powered humans, or rather entities but your commitment to destroy government funded facilities made me pull back the action to terminate delta until i've heard what you guys went through."
"We're sorry, our minds were full of rage because of what they did a while ago." i responded.
"I cant blame you mister marcus. i would also be mad too, especially since they set you guys up to make you guys into a superhuman soldier. that was their intention" the president responded.
"Do you know my real name mister president?" marsh responded.
"I'd like to call you marshy rather than marsh. i know you're keeping your idenity hidden but i know your real name and its to my ability i keep good connection with the community unlike others before me." the president responded. my eyes widened. that was very unexpected.
"Why marshy? why not marshmallow?" marsh responded.
"Marsh-y. sounds suitable with your looks. besides everyone knows you by marsh by now." the president responded softly.
"So then- okay i cant say anything besides my gratitude for keeping my identity a secret, the world doesnt need to know we exist." marsh responded.
"The world sees you guys as heroes and delta's economy and trust are plummeting due to my ability to terminate projects from them." the president spoke proudly as i turn to the president and tilt my head a little.
"Heroes? with a dark past? what do they think this is? a story or something? we're merely people with feelings" i spoke.
"My ability to keep the community safe from any danger is my top priority. i dont get the point of using our species for that kind of work, especially that is what delta is doing. we have full support for you two and the military is serving not only our country but our people. the police are not comparable to delta's military base." the president continued as i think of what kind of hurdles they are just to be free and not targeted down by corrupt companies!
"We have a mission for you two. the military will bring you to one of delta's military base. keep in mind to not interact with the other funded companies like alpha,beta and ceta. i will not be responsible for any damages you or they get. we all have a common enemy, delta itself but i cant do anything so you guys are my help i need." he continued yet again giving us a mission fully backed by the president himself is insane!
