Talking about wolves, we have a meeting with the royal family today.
In the royal house living room, "Evelyne! Kneel!" said my mother, but there was no way I was going on my knees. "Kneel!" she shouted again.
"Mother, sorry but I won't," I said slowly, accentuating my last word, "don't get me wrong, I am not a rebellious child, I am a bit too prideful, there are some mistakes I cannot afford anymore."
"Why is that?" She asked,
"If you want me to kneel, make them kneel first. Even though they are my elders I am the one wearing the crown they shall all pay respect to me not me to them. So is the tradition" I said.
"So is the tradition' you say then at least kneel before me" she replied.
"I won't do that either," I said. "Why is that?" She asked her mother, who did not seem to understand what I saying, "As you can only kneel in front of father, I can only kneel in front of myself. If you want me to kneel, then you shall all be kneeling first." I said.
"Impudence!" She shouted. "Guard takes her to her room to reflect!" she ordered.
The guards looked at each other, anxious. "I am afraid we can not do so, your highness. She is the commander of the army and she only can punish herself." the general said.
"I am not even dead yet, but I have no more authority over my own daughter." She said, "Mother, these are just the outcomes of your own decision." I replied, "Everyone stand up!" I ordered, myself, and everyone present except my mother stood.
From that day onward, I kept in mind fervently 'Eat or be eaten.'
Although I felt really proud of myself at that moment, I also felt bad after some times of reflection. I decided to go to mother and ask for her forgiveness.
When I got to my parents' room, I heard them talking. I was about to open the door when she said "I wish Evie were our real daughter; in this way, she would have been the queen instead of her stubborn sister."
When I heard those words, my mind went blank. I was upset. At the time confused but did not realize it, I just wanted to ask for forgiveness and leave.
I knocked on the door and said "Mother" in a soft tone, no one answered, so I slowly opened the door.
I saw mother lying down on the bed unconscious, Father was looking at her intensely. When father noticed me, he said, "Please, go back to your room."
Flabbergasted, I stepped out of their bedroom, closing the door after me. "Why would father do that to mother?" I thought to myself while walking back to my quarters.
What is going on in the palace? Why did Father give me his throne? Is Esther not my sister? Did father never tell mom who Esther's mother is? I kept questioning myself. I was not aware of my surroundings, unsure of everything, and I could no longer feel at ease in the palace. I was still blinded to what the future is to offer.
